Pick 32 Brisbane: Max Otten Oakleigh Charges- 193cm and 86kgs. Good left shoe with good awareness. Has a good size and at 193cm and 86kgs is ready to play AFL footy for Brisbane. Brisbane also needed to take someone taller here after taking mids earlier.

33. Melbourne - Viv Michie (Vic Metro/Oakleigh Chargers, 23/02/1992, 186cm, 78kg)

After picking up a tall with their first pick, the Dees have going with a midsize (186cm) midfielder/forward given the loss of (185cm+) McDonald and Bruce. Michie is an excellent kick and quick as well as a good overhead mark for his size. He can play midfield and push forward to kick goals as demonstrated averaging 16 possies and 2 goals per game in the U18 champs. He also averaged 17 possies and roughly a goal in the TAC Cup this year. I would call him a natural footballer in that he more often than not does the right things showing a natural understanding of the game. The main knock on Michie which he admits himself is he needs to work on the defensive side of his game and boosting his endurance to become a full-time midfielder but given the many pluses to his game in winning and executing well with the footy he is a worth a pick in the 30s. He'd be a good addition to the strong young group of mids Melbourne are putting together.

I keep having players I want getting taken right before my picks dammit!!!

35. Aaron Young (187cm/76kg) Eastern Ranges
36. Patrick Karnezis (191cm/80kg) Oakleigh Chargers

A quick medium/tall midfielder/wingman plus a quick medium tall forward to go along with the ruckman from earlier in the draft

Will put more detailed write ups when I get back to Melbourne

Josh Walker
Tall forward with incredible endurance and a fantastic kicking style. He was truly excellent for Vic Metro in the 2010 NAB AFL U18 Championships, where he averaged 12 disposals and five marks a game. He also kicked three goals and gave away another three score assists.

40 - Anton Hamp

Sydney are looking to the future by taking a tall forward who can play back as well.  Daniel Bradshaw has only a couple of years left in him and at 191cm and 80km, Anton will be given time to develop into a 2nd forward option with Jesse White.  He is also someone who can help out Heath Grundy and Ted Richards in defence as well.  He is quick with good hands and is a good kick for goal.

41 - Tom Liberatore

With their 2nd round pick, Western Bulldogs select the son of Tony Liberatore.  Tom has similar agility and a gritty strength that makes him hard to tackle. He averaged 24 disposals with the Calder Cannons, with five clearances and four tackles.  He was All-Australian in 2010.

#42 Carlton

Ben Newton

South Fremantle / 182cm / 78kg

Not afraid to run and carry and his left foot is a weapon. Gets great penetration with it so becomes one of those 70m players which are incredibly important in breaking down zones in the modern game.

#43 St Kilda

Daniel Farmer

Sandringham / 187cm / 80kg

He is an exceptional user of the footy, has a very penetrating boot, is a good contested mark and seems to have very good core strength meaning he should win more one on ones than he loses and has pace.

Selection # 44 (FREMANTLE)
Ben Brown – Devonport / 197cm / 84kg

Profile : Not in a dissimilar position to Chris Dawes 3-4 years ago. Had an injury that meant his first AFL year was going to be very limited in output but a club took the view he was a good long term prospect. Brown his knee vs NT at Champs but was already a hot prospect having kicked 5 goals vs QLD a week or so earlier. Nephew of Jimmy Manson and like uncle moves between KPF / Ruck. Has strong hands, good agility (outstanding basketballer) and a clean pair of hands below his knees so offers a heap to prospective clubs as a KPF and Ruck. Problem is he is very skinny and that is what makes me thinks he is later than sooner in the pecking order.
Similar to: Kurt Tippett insomuch as a tall ruck / fwd type.
Draft Range: 50 - Rookie
Why Fremantle: Think they would prefer a local kid but Brown is the best tall left and has huge upside. Dawes recovered and look what he has done.     8)
