Hope Hardwick & the rest of the brains trust are watching today's game and taking note of what kind of effort & what kind of players it takes to be the best. Because it couldn't look further away from what we currently have and the tripe they serve up.

I love Geelong about as much as I can love a team I don't barrack for. Watching them bomb it straight up the guts halfway through the last qtr and backing their team mates to win contests is how footy should be played. I'll bet if selwood was at Richmond with a kick at CHB he'd go sideways or backwards, not straight up the guts to CHF for bartel to mark. Yeah Bartel ended up stuffing that play up, but the mindset is the key. Polar opposites to our scared football.

We are so far away from that level I wonder if we'll ever get near it

Exactly the same here Tony except just switch that with the Hawks. Love to watch blokes like Roughead, Smith, Hodge, Burgoyne etc. Attacking, skillful and fast. I drool because it's the kind of footy we're trying to get to (whether we ever make it is another matter). Always try to tune into Hawks games when I can. Next week will be the team I love verse the team I love to watch.

Stupid and perplexing thing is that last year we were mostly playing that way.  Not always as successfully or as skilfully but we were winning more games than losing, improving gradually and showing an ability to mix it with the top sides on a more regular basis.  I still can't fathom why our players (or game plan or whatever the hell is to blame) have reverted to the worst of the Wallace years.   :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead

Bombers up by 5 goals to the Pies zip at 1.4 time and totally dominating the inside 50s.

What a weird season. Just totally unpredictable as most sides are going in and out of form week to week :huh3. My tipping has been crap this year that's for sure  :P.

Make that in and out of form quarter to quarter lol. First 6 goals to the Bombers followed by last 6 goals to the Pies. What a choke by Essendon  :lol. Scores level at half-time.

Unless Essendon can step up Collingwood are going to run away and win by a big margin in the 2nd half.

Tipster's nightmare this year. Leppa gets his first win....took him 4 less games than Dimma.

Bomberblitz will go into meltdown again if they lose this after being 6 goals up  :lol.

Stuff em. The meltdown on Bomberblitz is equivalent to the meltdown their brains have suffered in the last few years fans players and administrators alike.

I think a huge part of the problem Smokey, is that this season many of the teams have reverted to the rolling rugby scrum style of game. This horrid style of footy is particularly effective against us, as we have shown time and time again that we have no answer for it. It forces us into our shells, into making silly errors, and into chipping backwards and sideways. Collingwood murdered us with this style of game, and even the lowly Bulldogs were effective with it mostly in the first half. Buckley in the papers this week basically reflected the attitude of a lot of modern day coaches when he said that he didn't give a flying fig jam about the aesthetics of the game. All he cares about is the 4 points. Seems to me that the only way to fix the unholy mess that our game has descended into is to scrap the interchange bench altogether.
