As much as Dimma's game plan/style is completely poo, his players did him no favours on the weekend. If I were Dimma I'd swing the axe. FOR ONCE!
When you are beaten by a better team fair enough but if you are beaten because your effort was insipid, make some players pay.
I'd drop Grigg, Houli, Batchelor and Ellis with Griffiths, Drummond out with injury. If you don't make an example of players when you have an effort like that it sends a message that's it's exceptable.

Ins-Foley, Lennon, Elton, Ellis, Vickery and Dea/Grimes

Plus I'd up-grade Castagna off the rookie list. He played well against The Doggies and was in the best again on the weekend. We have a couple that could go onto the LTIL, why not do it?? WTF are they waiting for?

Hunt is out with a knee so he'll have to be replaced too.

NOOOOOO!!! I agree Sam Lloyd should be dropped. He kicked zero goals against the Demons, kicked 1 goal when he should've done more in the demolition of the Lions and only kicked 1 against the Bulldogs. He should make way for Lennon. I would give McIntosh another game to redeem himself and Arnot and McDonough should be retained as I think it's pretty rough to make them the omissions after one appearance when the entire team played like crap.

I don't see a mass overhaul though because the club probably believes we will make finals.

Based on VFL performances I would go

Vickery for Griffith (reluctantly)
Foley for Drummond
Lennon for Lloyd

Maybe Dea for Morris?
Ellis surely could come in for Grigg?

Agree with everything except dropping Grigg. He got 12 tackles. This represents something like a 1200% spike in performance, let's ride the wave. Ellis for Hunt by the looks.
We still look a very gluggy with that backline though, no real ball gatherer and no pace. Gee we miss Lids.

Troy Chaplin is set to bolster Richmond's defence when the Tigers take on Geelong, with the club also hopeful of regaining Chris Newman for Saturday's clash.

In the mix: round five

RICHMOND

Expect wholesale changes at the Tigers after a round four performance Damien Hardwick labelled "insipid". Two changes will be forced, with Ben Griffiths (calf) and Nathan Drummond (knee) injured, but there will surely be more. The club is hopeful senior defenders Chris Newman and Troy Chaplin will return from back and calf injuries respectively. Reece Conca (hamstring) is ready to play after two weeks of training, but he could return via the VFL after missing the first four rounds. Dylan Grimes will also play at some level after recovering from a hamstring injury. Vice-captain Brett Deledio (calf) will resume running this week but is unlikely to play. In the VFL, Ty Vickery shapes as a straight swap for Griffiths in the forward line after kicking four goals. Nathan Foley (30 possessions and 16 clearances) staked a strong claim for his first senior game this season, while No.12 draft pick Corey Ellis (24 and 11) will be considered to make his debut.

Reckon he is good chance this week along with Foley

Would think Ellis if he plays is likely to be the sub or get subbed out early

Dimma says Chaplin will return to face Cats. Newman & Grimes available, Vickery a chance but no Deledio.

After 24 disposals & 11 clearances in VFL last weekend, Richmond's Corey Ellis is ready for AFL debut. Classy left-footer. Pick 12.
