Maybe they should just ditch the rule. If you're cleared of concussion, why wait any longer before being allowed on? And whilst we're ditching rules, pee the sub rule off with it.

  • Against logic there is no armour like ignorance.
I'm still confused. Did we put Edwards on too early due to bad advise from the interchange steward or did the interchange steward get it wrong? I thought the half time break counted towards the 20 minutes now. Didn't we make the concussion sub until half way through the break?

The AFL deserves blame sure, but doesn't Vickery Snr also deserve to share some? As our interchange steward shouldn't he of been aware of the rules and also been timing it to make sure it was correct?

He was told by the AFL steward it was OK to put Edwards on. It's not his fault. Nobody seems to know what the rule is.
To me it is easy. There should be a time ? 20 min, that a player is assessed for concussion. If he is not right by that time he cannot go back on. That means that if you are OK in 2 minutes, you can go back on after 2 minutes. The sub can only be used while the player is off getting assessed. To stop abuse of the rule, heavy team fines should be imposed if it is deemed that the player faked to get the sub on.
The current rule penalizes the team who lost the player too much and is unworkable.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

I know, I can read. That's why I said the AFL deserves the blame. They should of told him to wait a little longer when he asked. But it is his job to know the rules, and he didn't. He deserves to take some of the blame.

If our interchange steward doesn't know, the AFL steward doesn't know and most fans don't know what the rule is then I would suggest the rule and it's implementation is to blame.
