I feel sorry for Dion , it seems if a fly lands on him it’s a few weeks out. He just can’t take a trick

This. Thought his soft tissue issues were confined to his leg - calf, hammy and quad. Now his upper body is getting into the act too. Such a shame, he’s such a gun but can’t play more then 14-15 games.

Played in 18 during the H&A season and was subbed out in 3 of them although 1 was due to concussion rather than a soft tissue injury. Then was also subbed out in the elimination final through injury.

Also only topped 15 games in 2 of the previous 7 seasons before that.

Hmm played 25 games in 2019 and 22 in 2017!!! look just having a bit of fun. Soft tissue has always been a bit of a problem we agree.

But three of the 6 years we have had him he has played 19, 22, and 25 games. As few games he has  played in 2015, 2021 and 2022 he still averages 16 games a season.

Reckon id take 16 games a season from him with his history of soft tissue injury.

Averages a tick under 14 games in his 6 seasons with us during the home and away season. Numbers boost up a bit if you include finals as he’s always managed to get his body right for them.

Look I got 0 issues with dion, he was an absolute gun recruit and he’s paid off that trade 100 times over. All I was trying to say with my original comment is that it’s a shame he regularly happens to have soft tissue injuries because similarly with lynch, if they could play 22 games they would absolutely dominate and start getting the outside recognition they deserve.

Prestia escapes serious injury

Michael Gleeson
The Age
9 March 2023

Richmond’s talismanic midfielder Dion Prestia has escaped serious injury to his pectoral muscle and is now set to play against Carlton in the blockbuster season-opener, with the Tigers also looking to play a debutant key defender against the Blues.

Sources added that scans revealed barely any damage to the muscle, that Prestia was pain free and is now almost certain to play against the Blues in what is already a sellout match at the MCG.

Good news for Tigers fans Dion Prestia trained fully this morning.

Left shoulder strapped but moved freely and showed no signs of pectoral issue suffered in final practice match.

Looks a lock for Thursday night

Prestia training fully today. The vision here shows him involved in full contact match sim. Just needs to get through the main session on Tuesday morning to be completely ticked off to play.

Worst game I can recall, thank God for Hopper. Just didn't rock up Dion against a real crap and raw midfield should have filled his boots today like Hop did.
Go Tigers!
