Matthew Lloyd singled out small forward Sydney Stack in a specific piece of play out of Saturday’s game, where he allowed St Kilda forward Jack Lonie to run free and kick an easy goal.

“Sydney Stack was up against (Jack) Lonie," he said.

“Your team is not going well – put an arm across but because you don’t want to do that and you want to play an attacking brand of footy, you get punished.”

Has his game suffered from being moved through every position since coming back from injury last year? He was a star in defence before injury last year but has looked very ordinary this season.

Kicked 4 against Saints in the forward line. He looks down on confidence and a little disinterested
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Back this kid in.

Yes he is down on form but who in our side isn’t.

Houli was much worse last week

Hardwick said Stack was low on confidence, but would be back.

“Sydney has to rediscover who he is and how he wants to play,” Hardwick said.

“He is lacking a bit of confidence, he’s probably fumbled a ball early in the game which he has dwelled on too much. It’s un-Sydney like.

“He doesn’t normally worry about mistakes, but he’s thinking about the things he’s not doing.”

According to Jack R, the coaches want Stack in the side but he's still young & learning about himself as a footballer and working on a couple of things.

Dimma in today's presser:

He's back! Stacky is a guy we want in our side. He was in good shape pre-covid but found the lockdown period difficult and didn't comeback in a good way and shape.

It seemed like it. But this is a guy who went from not being able to run for more than 15mins with KFC to AFL standard jet. I believe in the stack man and back him to make an Impact

Didn’t get a lot of ground time nor much of the ball but I think the coaching staff will like the 7 tackles and the fact the he led not only the team but the whole field with pressure acts tonight.

Let’s hope he gets some confidence from this hit out and we see his self belief return.

The club that keeps giving.

I thought he was OK, not good.

Easy to hide when you're pumping a team.

Bolton has left him and Rioli for dead.

Yep agreed.

People forget the jump from VFL/training to AFL level.

150 plus game player I reckon.

Give him some time.
