Australia has gone spin-heavy for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Hate to be negative but I could hardly care less.

Test is where it's at and aside from winning the Ashes the series has been often disappointing - 4 tests in and we've seen less than about a dozen days of cricket so far.

First time Australia have played at Sydney without a specialist spinner since 1887-88.

Australia: Weatherald, Head, Labuschagne, Smith (capt), Khawaja, Carey (wk), Green, Webster, Neser, Starc, Boland.

Eng 3/211 at stumps (lost the last session and a bit due to bad light/weather). They were 3/57 before an unbeaten 154 run stand between Root and Brook.

Starc, Neser and Boland with one wicket each. Questions again as to why Green kept his place in the side.

gonna be a 3-1 or 3-2 ashes win.

Not a 4-1 IMO

I've not seen much of this match due to work and other things I preferred to be doing yesterday.

Is the wicket flat or are we just playing like it's a dead rubber?

It’s the current vogue to pot Cam Green

We have other problems

1- Usman Goodes needs to be replaced
2- Jake Weatherald makes Green look like peak Bradman .. Weatherald simply isn’t up to it

Cam Green deserves all the criticism he is gettimg. He keeps getting chance after chance

Om your other 2

This is Usman's last test so he is getting replaced. Big question is what will our inept selectors do

As for Weatherald, have said to multiple people, he not up to it. Terrible technique for test cricket

Marnus also deserves some criticism for chasing a wide one outside off stump with only a couple of overs left in the day. Threw away his wicket.

Aussies  2/166 ..... Head 91*, Neser 1*, Labushagne 48, Weatherald 21.

Yes .. the world knows it’s Adam Khawaja’s last test

Hence problem one is replacing him

He’s made sure everyone from Australia to the Middle East knows he’s hanging them up

Green is very much under-performing given his experience and potential. Weatherald, despite several failures, has scored more runs than Green I believe? Green pitches in with 1-2 expensive wickets per match, not a big deal. I'm disappointed they didn't try Webster for the last two tests.

Weatherald I would have persisted with purely because we need to stick to our guns and develop an opener and I don't want to see inexperienced players dumped after 2 tests or so. We did this a lot before Warner came into the side. Guys like Rogers.

Normal Ashes transmission has resumed  ;D.

Australia posted seven half-century stands to grind England into the dirt. They had a tough day in the field, dropping four catches and missing a run out. Matt Potts has conceded a record tally.

Aussies 7/518 at stumps Day 3 ..... Head 163, Smith 129*, Webster 42*, Green 37.

Aussies ahead by 134 runs.

Lucky it's the final test because Green should be dropped for stuffing up that Smith catch just now

Webster with 71no looking twice the batsman
