Sicily also lost his appeal tonight. Like Mansell, misses the next 3 weeks.

There's no confusion and everything is fine according to incoming AFL CEO Andrew Dillon.

-----------------------------

Dillon said while sanctions for dangerous tackles would be reviewed at the end of the season, they were in the “right spot” at the moment.

“I don’t really see there being confusion,” Dillon told reporters.

“At the moment the penalties or the sanctions are in the right spot.

“But as we do every year at the end of the year, we’ll review how the season is going and where we want to go going forward.

“So (that) doesn‘t necessarily mean we’ll stay in the same spot.”

Of course there is no confusion, the AFL is always right and anyone associated with the AFL is not allowed to disagree or even show the slightest dissent.

Authoritarians: They'll make hay with communism or fascism, it really doesn't matter. Certainly not ideologues.

The term “woke” is getting tossed around a lot lately.

I notice that it’s particularly popular with blokes with cars as fb profile pics who use it quite broadly to describe anything they don’t like.

The ‘culture war’ debates are so asinine and redundant it’s amazing that people get caught up in it.

Partisan outrage contests on both sides that changes no ones opinion and solves absolutely nothing.

If you were aware of the backgrounds of the famous Communist revolutionary leaders you'd know that's actually not that far from the truth. They mostly came from privileged backgrounds and were very rarely even remotely working class or part of the masses themselves. :shh

Agreed, but there is undoubtedly a new puritanism asserting itself: A new age of insufferable protestants obsessed with salvation who can't just mind their own thoughts and words -- they have to regulate everyone else's thoughts and words as well. At least with the Catholics -- they have their own problems -- but at least they know they can uphold the ritual once a week and get back to afternoon siestas Monday to Saturday. Give me southern Europe any day. Way too much missionary energy in the society these days from people who think they're irreligious but are painful religious cliches. It's been done before: It was called the 17th Century.

Also, 3 weeks -- what a joke!

Oh boy. It appears that another culture war dialogue has broken out.

This should be balanced and constructive…

Wasn’t aware of that. Interesting if true.

Both the far left and the far right are two sides of the same coin IMO.
