All depends on cost and I’m not a massive fan, but if it’s the difference between Bolton going and Bolton staying but on a little less… I know what I’d prefer

Big pass on Narkle, can find the ball for short spells( no tank after 4 years in the system) and is like a cat when he gets it.

Fremantle great Matthew Pavlich is confident that young midfielder Adam Cerra will re-sign with the Dockers.

Cerra comes out of contract at the end of the season and is reportedly attracting interest from Victorian clubs, including Carlton and Richmond.

“I think Adam Cerra’s going to stay,” Pavlich told SEN WA’s Gilly and Goss.

“All the talk is that as the year goes on and the end of the season nears, everyone’s saying that he’s going to go.

“I have the contrary view. I think he’ll stay, Adam Cerra. That’s for no other reason that they’re building something pretty impressive down there at Fremantle, and I think he wants to be part of that.

“It may not be the four-year or the five-year longer-term deal that everyone at Fremantle would like him to sign, but it might be a shorter contract.

“I think he’ll stay, and I think he should stay. Get himself to that free agency window and then he can make that call.

Ex-Dockers skipper Pavlich has encouraged his former club to lure Geelong’s Jordan Clark and Richmond’s Shai Bolton back to Western Australia.

Clark is contracted to the Cats for 2022, while Bolton remains unsigned beyond this year.

“In terms of trading, Freo should absolutely still go after the likes of (Jordan) Clark and (Shai) Bolton from Western Australia to get them home and play for the Dockers,” Pavlich said.

Rival clubs are reportedly circling Port Adelaide ruckman Peter Ladhams, believing he could be gettable despite being contracted until the end of next year.

Most likely wishful thinking but according to Caro Tom Green's grandmother wants him at Tigerland and is regularly calling Benny Gale.

List managers estimate that for clubs to break even in 2022, the salary cap needs to increase by more than $110,000 and $250,000 when triggers and clauses are taken into account.

So what does all this mean for clubs during the trade period?

Through no fault of their own, clubs are more strapped for cash than they anticipated. Player agents believe Sydney, Brisbane, West Coast, Collingwood, Melbourne, Geelong and Richmond have almost no scope to target high-priced recruits in 2021.

As one list manager said on Wednesday: “The reality is most clubs don’t have much money to spend at the moment.”

So they already know who's still going to be on our list next year and all the pay structures do they? :shh

Adelaide will entertain offers for two of its star free agents, Matt Crouch and Daniel Talia.

Rival clubs, particularly those based in Victoria (where Crouch and Talia grew up) have this week become aware of Adelaide’s willingness to let them walk out of the club.

Senior sources at Adelaide have also told The Age that versatile veteran Tom Lynch is also unlikely to be offered a new contract, which has raised eyebrows among some teammates.

Neither Crouch (groin) nor Talia (foot) have played this season as they deal with ongoing injuries and both are in the final years of their contract.

Rival clubs told The Age on Wednesday that both players would be valued at approximately second-round draft picks, mainly due to Crouch’s injury history and Talia’s age.

True,It does depend if someone is traded or if an unexpected retirement and even if the contracts are mismanaged ( see Collingwood) we also need to to allow for pay rises

Based on tonight wouldn't be offering Freo any more than a 4th rounder for Cerra...4 quarters of softy ball watching that would do Menadud proud...as for Narkle - looked ok in a easy win but if that's his best than he'd be nothing more than a slight upgrade on Aarts..... :shh
