Agree with you on this one Clawski.

This is looking like a waste of a list spot.

Dimma is a dumb campaigner not picking Parker. Instead he wastes spots with duds like Naish and Cantstandya

Josh Green, Schlensong or Callow...even Freeman would've made more sense than Parker.....fine bloody time to put Marlion Pickett in charge of list management... :shh

Matthew Parker to debut this week (Age)
« Reply #79 on: July 15, 2021, 01:20:28 PM »
Former Saint Matt Parker will make his Richmond debut against Brisbane on Friday night.

The Tigers on Thursday confirmed The Age’s report that Parker, delisted by the Saints at the end of last season but re-drafted by the Tigers in the middle of the year, will line up against the Lions.

Richmond National Recruiting Manager, Matt Clarke said it was Parker’s athleticism that made him stand out to Tigers officials.

“We were looking for someone that could add some really dynamic movement to the way we play, and we like his athletic upside,” he said.

"He has got great leg speed (and he is) a really good runner. He has got some aerial power and knows how to kick goals as well.”

Speaking to Richmond Media earlier in the week, VFL Tigers playing assistant coach, Steve Morris praised Parker's performance in last Sunday's tight loss to Collingwood where he collected 24 disposals, six inside-50s, six marks and laid eight tackles.

"'MP' put great pressure on and once again was an important part of our midfield. He brought others into the game with the use of his hands which was also great to see."

Honestly one bloke I wouldn't mess with on our list is Pickett so if Mitch had a go I reckon Pickett would king hit him lol. Bloke tackles to hurt and doesn't look remotely phased by any of the jumper punch crap. Wonder if Parker is similar.

Looking forward to Parker. Regardless how he performs he needed to replace some of the witches hats that got omitted from the team.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Hope he goes well. Must adapt to our style of play especially under pressure or it could cost us unnecessary turnovers. Love his aggression and attack on the footy. Look for Pickett to give him a few easy possessions early :shh

Happy for him to go hard at the ball & opposition but he has to remain disciplined. Last thing we need is another Tiger giving away silly frees.

Interesting to see where we play Parker tonight. I'd like to see him play as a defensive forward locking down one of the Lions interceptors a la the Townsend 2017 role.
