Tigers set for Yarrawonga and North East Victoria community and training campRFC website
Nov 6, 2025Richmond will visit Yarrawonga and surrounding areas later this month as part of the AFL Preseason Community Camps.
The Club will visit schools, hospitals, and local football teams in the AFL North East Border and surrounding areas on Tuesday, November 25, and Wednesday, November 26.
Numurkah, Cobram, Chiltern, Wahgunyah and Albury-Wodonga are among the other towns the Club’s AFL stars will have a touch point with as part of the community visits.
Richmond will also hold a pre-season training session at Yarrawonga’s JC Lowe Oval on Wednesday, November 26 that will be open to fans.
The 3pm training session will be followed by a player signing and photo opportunity from approx. 4.45pm.
AFL North East Border and the broader Murray Bushrangers region, as well as Bendigo Pioneers catchment, make up the Club’s Next Generation Academy zone.
As part of this, the Club has also visited Wangaratta, Mildura, and Albury-Wodonga in recent years for the AFL Community Camp, expanding its footprint in those towns.
The Richmond link through the region extends to Aligned Leisure’s management of gyms, pools, and leisure centres in Albury-Wodonga.
Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said the trip would help the Club start the year with strong momentum.
“We know there are Richmond fans everywhere and particularly in the Yarrawonga and broader North East region,” he said.
“Connecting with these fans at schools and around the community across the week, as well as their presence at our open training, will create a great buzz.
“It will be good for the players to get away together, train hard, and give back to the community during our time in the region. We are all looking forward to it.”
Richmond draftees will join their teammates at the camp, with the Club currently holding picks 3,4, 38, and 81 at the Telstra AFL Draft on November 19-20.
