Deledio

24 possession from the forward line
8 marks several contested
1 goal
5 tackles
3 inside 50

Playing with injury question marks. There are obvious problems with the club, bigger problems than cotchin and deledio
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Good times don't rely on one player

Hawks hsd roughy and Gunston have no goals Thursday

Guess what. 13 others stepped up to the plate

Dusty player his part but Grigg  Edwards lids how did they go?

fair point, but why then single out two other individuals? There was probably only two or three players who could hold their head high Friday night.

Agree

But the Hawks also have outstanding leaders. Even Clarkson has said Hodge is like a coach out on the field. He has great ability to drag his team along when needed.

It's no coincidence that the top sides have strong leadership

You mention Lids? He is our Vice Capt, and he went missing last night as did the entire leadership group.

That's why I keeping banging on about our leaders going missing at crucial times, in big games. They need to take the next step in their leadership to enable us to take the next step as a team.
The entire side went missing last night! Blaming just the leaders is stupid. Going on what you say, if a leader, Cotch or Lids has a bad game, they have failed as a leader?
As I said before it's such a simplistic way to judge leadership

I dont think anyone is blaming the leaders, but surely they are the ones that you expect to stand up when the chips are down,  isn't that why they are leaders, they are supposed to lead the way, set the example?

Isnt that what you meant with the Dominick Cassisi type comment, someone that constantly plays well despite what those around him are doing?

Otherwise they are just a follower.

I will never understand how people can accept a D grade performance from an A grade player, but get stuck into the B and C graders for their D grade performance.

Personally, i want players to strive to always be their best ( Yeah i understand it wont always happen that they always perform to their absolute best) and when someone who has set the bar as high as Cotchin has dishes up such a poor performance, criticism is warranted.

I dont subscribe to the school of thought that just because he is so naturally talented he should be absolved of scrutiny when he dishes up something so far below what he capable of. The exact opposite in fact, particularly when he is captain.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

You  totally missed the mark with the Dom Cassisi reference. But don't worry about it.

On Cotch I'm not saying don't criticize or cratique his proformances but a bad game doesn't always mean he failed as being a leader. Just because a club picks you as the captain of the club doesn't mean every under par game means he has failed the club.

so i ask again what was the meaning of the cassisi comment?

who is saying cotch has failed the club?

And 13 contested possessions the most of any RFC player on the ground. Wasn't his best game by any measure but wouldn't of had him too far behind Dusty and Miles..

He & Martin single-handedly got us back into it. (or is that double -handedly?)

Reckon Cotch would disagree with that himself, said so last week.

THAT goal that sparked the turnaround ...

Given the context of the game, and i know i am 100% biased, should be a goal if the year candidate
