Trent Cotchin [merged]
« on: September 02, 2007, 07:39:39 PM »
We might as well be positive about getting pick 2. Who knows we may have just gained a gun ballwinner we need. Welcome Trent  :).

Trent Cotchin's profile

Clubs: Northern Knights/PEGS
D.O.B.: 7th April 1990
Hgt: 184cm
Wgt: 81kg

Natural Foot: Right (but very comfortable on his left)

His fitness testing at the AIS:

Player           Hgt     Wgt   Skin SVJ RVJ 5m   10m   20m Agility Beep
T.Cotchin      183.4  79.6  43.7  71  83  1.12  1.76  2.96   8.37   13.5
Luke Ball       182.8  72.4  30.8  71  90  0.98 1.68   2.85   8.66   14.2
Brock McLean 183.4  85.9  53    58  69  1.05  1.80  3.03   8.61   14.3

Note: Cotchin's testing is at age 16 whilst Ball and McLean's were at 17.

RFC confident his acceleration (5m) and endurance (beep) will be equivalent to Ball and McLean's in October when Cotchin attends the draft camp giving him a very high speed/endurance rating.

although Masten IMHO is still the player we need the most, cotchin will be a fantastic aquisition to our side.

fast, agile, well-built, quick between the ears and awesome kick on either side of the body

It is no big deal missing on the number 1 pick.

We have 3 picks in the first 20, we just need to make them all count.

i rate masten a better prospect and player

but what happens say the blues get cotchin 1st? no guarantees they will get kruezer first even thought though thats most likely

but say we had 1st pick, i dont think we woudl have gone for kruezer anyway, its been highlighted many times we want more hard midfielders

so masten or cotchin or even selwood could be in the mix

re what happens , we at least have bargaining power and a 1st pick in the psd.

we will bounce back ok next yr im sure of it

masten is the type of player of need in preference to cotchin but cotchin is a class above masten.

He has the potential to be a star player whereas IMHO masten will become a more modest very good player in the haselby mould.

BTW hasleby might be coming to richmond through the PSD, let us all pray  :pray

26 so has a good 5-6 years if he can overcome his back problems

would be fantastic for foley to have a partner in crime who can actually win the ball and dispose of it precisely, tucky I'm looking at you

thought he was older, but if he is 26, thats the the age group we need, but i hope he does not want too much or we can trade tuck or cogs

yep..tend to agree with you on cotchin....can be a superstar....whereas masten will be quite a good player...

where did u get the rumour about hasleby from???..if true..that's good...we have enough speed in our midfield......hasleby will fit in well with his in and underwork with cogs, tuck and foley

so what happens if the blues get cotchin

we should go 4 a masten or selwood

dont think big boys like kruezer grow up to be anything special, look at fraser at the skunks
