That's not what jumper they were wearing when Andy D made his announcement. It was ORANGE  :chuck
I'm glad they have a red-orange one otherwise the AFL would say that yellow one clashes with us  :help.

I don't understand their colour choice.

In a competitive marketplace I would have thought it would be good to choose something different to the lions, but red, yellow and light blue is quite close to maroon, yellow and blue and way too close to the old Fitzroy jersey that Brisbane occasionally wear. I would have thought the AFL would enforce a difference too.

Then there is the clash jumper issue and besides Brisbane Sydney, Melbourne, Essendon, St Kilda I guess all have more than a little red in them too.

There are no teams wearing much green (Freo a little) or sky blue in the league, despite these being quite popular colours in other sports and I really feel that perhaps the new clubs should have been asked to use one of these as a primary colour.

I'd reckon the AFL will want to keep sky blue for GWS when they come in in 2012 and green for Tassie when they eventually get their own side.

Here's some designs from BF:

Could our AFL Suns be about to rise?
Gold Coast Bulletin
July 14th, 2010

GOLD Coast Football Club will not comment on rumours sweeping football circles that their AFL nickname will be the Suns.

A caller to Melbourne radio station 3AW this morning claimed the name had been finalised, and that club paraphernalia was being printed with the name Suns.

The caller also claimed domain names for Gold Coast Suns had been registered by the AFL.

The Gold Coast club's new guernsey and name will be revealed at a gala function next Thursday night.

Other Australian sporting franchises have encountered copyright problems after trying to use the name Suns.

The Townsville Crocodiles National Basketball League side was forced to change its name from the Suns because the American NBA side Phoenix Suns held the copyright for the the name in Australia.

Can confirm that the AFL is the registered owner of goldcoastsuns.com.au

I actually like the name and think the jumper looks ok although a bit weak.
The song sucks.

The logo looks a rip off of the Anzac logo.

The guernseys don't look too bad on paper although the home one is uninspiring. Need to see them on the players to really know.

I don't why they made such a big deal about the release being a secret when we already knew most of the information.

A new club song, approved by the existing playing group and the king of footy tunes Greg Champion, was also rolled out at a gala Gold Coast function amid bold claims it was almost better than Richmond’s.

Guernsey - ordinary. Too much red. Who out of Sydney, Melbourne, Essendon, Brisbane will have to wear a change strip? Actually reckon they could have had a great jersey with red and yellow like the Macedonian flag,
Change guernseys - OK.
Song - tune is much better than other recent teams Freo, West Coast, Port etc. Lyrics are garbage
