well thats freo done and dusted for afew years. id imagine him leaving will tear the heart and soul out of that club!

Would they get a couple of first rounders as compo?

Or would the fact that Pav is 30 mean a first and a second maybe?
And you may not think I care for you

The first draft compensations have been handed out....

It had been determined that Adelaide Crows would receive a third band selection (end of round one selection) for Bock, while Port Adelaide would receive a fourth band selection (round-two selection) for Krakouer.

-------------------------------------

Adelaide Crows - end of round one selection.
The selection for Nathan Bock may be activated by the Adelaide Crows at the end of round one in any one of the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 or 2014 NAB AFL Draft selection meetings.

The selection will be immediately placed after the selection of the premiership team of that season (which concludes round one), and any compensation pick under AFL Rule 6 (In 2010, West Coast will receive a selection under this rule).

In the case of two or more clubs activating an end of round one selection in the one AFL Draft meeting, the club(s) that is (are) placed lower on the premiership ladder in that particular season will be placed first in the selection order.

For the selection to be activated for the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, the Adelaide Crows will be required to notify the AFL of its intention to use the selection by November 5, 2010.

For the selection to be activated for any of the years 2011-2014 in the NAB AFL Draft of that particular year, the Adelaide Crows will be required to notify the AFL of its intention to use the selection by the last Tuesday of that particular year, prior to the start of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The club has the right to on-trade its compensation selection to another club.

If the club on-trades its compensation selection to another club, the selection may be used in that year's NAB AFL Draft selection meeting, or in any other year up to the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.

Port Adelaide - round-two selection.
The selection for Nathan Krakouer may be activated by Port Adelaide after its round-two selection in any one of the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 or 2014 NAB AFL Draft selection meetings.

The selection will be immediately placed behind the round-two selection of Port Adelaide in that particular season (that is, should Port Adelaide earn the right for selection 22, the compensation selection would be selection No.23; if Port Adelaide earn the right for selection 31, the compensation selection would be selection No.32, etc.)

For the selection to be activated for the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, Port Adelaide will be required to notify the AFL of its intention to use the selection by November 5, 2010.

For the selection to be activated for any of the years 2011-2014 in the NAB AFL Draft of that particular year, Port Adelaide will be required to notify the AFL of its intention to use the selection by the last Tuesday of that particular year, prior to the start of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The club has the right to on-trade its compensation selection to another club.

If the club on-trades its compensation selection to another club, the selection may be used in that year's NAB AFL Draft selection meeting, or in any other year up to the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.

Mr Dillon said the lodgement of the respective contract offers to players Bock and Krakouer by Gold Coast FC meant the club could not automatically select another uncontracted player from either of those two clubs.

For the benefit of any media who may not understand the list establishment rules, Gold Coast FC is allowed to select any player who is delisted by an AFL club, even if it has already selected an uncontracted player from that particular club.

Further, Gold Coast FC is able to trade with any club to add a player to its list, even if it has already selected an uncontracted player from that club.

I don't know what the Crows are whinging about. Bock was hardly a certain best 22er in their side this year. Phil Davis had gone past him. It was only Neil Craig's bizarre decision to drop Davis after he was nominated for the RS  ??? that allowed Bock back into the Crows line-up.

i wonder if any clubs will hold off until 2012 draft to use there compensation picks seeing how no new clubs are joining in 2013 there might be abit more depth in the draft.

They definitely will hold off. There's a 10 spot difference for a start of 2nd round pick between a normal draft and this and next year's compromised ones. It'd also be handy for a top side like Geelong if they lose Ablett to wait and have extra early compenation picks up their sleeve when the current side wanes in 2-3 years time. It'll enable them to rebuild quickly again.

Alastair Clarkson has conceded the Hawks could lose Campbell Brown to the Gold Coast.

THE Gold Coast Suns are considering recruiting former Hawthorn premiership ruckman Robert Campbell, with the new club having the opportunity to simply place Campbell on its list.

Former Richmond player Andrew Krakouer, who has been performing well for WA club Swan Districts this year after his release from jail in August last year, is another player whom the Suns have first call on and can simply list.

Sturt ruckman Jon Giles, who was once on Port Adelaide's list, is another potential ruck option if the Suns overlook Campbell.

Cameron Richardson, from North Ballarat, is another the Suns are understood to be considering listing; Richardson, 22, has been overlooked in recent drafts.

Quartermain on One Week At A Time tonight said Rischitelli will also be named a Gold Coast recruit tomorrow. Not sure where that puts Brennan who was also linked to Suns given only one player per club can be poached by GC.

Edit: Hutchy on Footy Classified is also saying Rischitelli is the new Suns signing tomorrow at 11am.

A no brainer for Rischitelli. Brisbane were quite happy to dump him off last year at Princes Park while chasing Fev and now he's returned their "loyalty" and probably doubled his income at the same time just by moving down the highway to the Gold Coast.
