Could be a very interesting year given how close all the teams appear to be and so many 'young developing' teams. Best opportunity for a team like the Saints, Adelaide, Dogs and Collingwood to step up so
1. Geelong
2. St Kilda
3. North Melbourne
4. Hawthorn
5. WB
6. Richmond
7. Sydney
8. Adelaide

9. Fremantle
10. Collingwood
11. Brisbane
12. Carlton
13. West Coast
14. Melbourne
15. Port Adelaide
16. Essendon

GF - Geelong
Coleman - Mooney
Brownlow - Ablett
Rising Star - Rich
Jack Dyer - Lids
NAB - Hawthorn

The Swans are slowly losing their premiership players with Tadhg Kennelly apparently confirming 2009 will be his final year. If not this year hopefully by 2010 it will one less side we'll have to worry about with them in the bottom 8.

I'll never forget back around xmas 2002 I was in Listowel visitng a mate when a mate of his introduced himself.

"Hi my name is Tadgh, I live in Sydney"

The penny didn't really drop, but you have to remember he was in the media an awful lot back then and you had heard of him even if you didn't know what he looked like. A minute later my mate told me it was Tadgh Kennelly

I was struck by his unassuming character then and it certainly seemed that footy didn't change him too much over the years either. One of the good guys IMHO.

Anyone else want in on the ladder prediction competition? So far there are 12 entrants.

Its very easy just put in your prediction for the ladder after 22 games. Also predicitions for GF winner, Brownlow, Coleman, Risiing star, NAB cup and Jack Dyer which will carry bonus points of 5 points each.

Here is my ladder at the end of the home and away season.

1 Geelong...this is their year.No one will get close.
2 Western Bulldogs....Will impove on last years 3rd
3 Richmond...just like 95 & 01 we will come from 9th to top 4
4 Hawthorn...mild case of premiership hangover
5 Carlton...not that far behind us.Lookout for fit Judd.
6 North...Always play above themselves.Their spirit the envy on the league.
7 Port...Another bolter.Had one of those years last year.
8 Collingwood...will fall into 8th because of their favourable draw.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
9 Adelaide...just tredding water this year
10 St Kilda....the most over rated team ever to finish 4th IMHO
11 Essendon...will give some cheek
12 West Coast...Too many kids
13 Freo....Too many Kids
14 Sydney...In free fall
15 Brisbane...Will bottom out.
16 Melbourne...cant see them finishing anywhere but last again

After one game Fishfinger's table is closest to the current table although these standings will probably vary wildly until everything settles down. Tuckerbag was the only one who tipped Geelong for the NAB cup so he picks up -5 bonus points. Yours truly is going pretty ordinary.
