Surely he's due for a rising star nomination? Hopefully kicking the winning goal attracts attention from the panel that gives out the nominations. He's played every game so far and most weeks has possession numbers in the late-teens as a first-year player.

he is by far the best 1st yr player in the comp, im sure he was a saints fan too, but seeing his [passion and excitement after kicking that goal shows he is a tiger now....
he deserves the rising star noimination and honestly at this stage deserves the award.
as u said MT , played every game, had good numbers and has not been nursed into easy roles.
can tell you now once he gets better fitness and conditioning  and dea and grimes are back in defence, ellis will add to our midfeild and be a star and we can say good bye to jackson

He was a massive Kangaroos fan IIRC. Honestly couldnt care if he gets the nod or not, to see a young player at 18 years of age step right into AFL footy and have a defensive impact on the game is absolutely outstanding.

Interesting. If you were to say best first year 18 year old player taken in the main draft last year, maybe. What are the other options? Greene? Coniglio?

Has noticeably gone up a notch or 2 the last 2 weeks, looking more settled and comfy out there, and looks to have gained a yard of pace also, thought initially he was slow, but he's pretty quick!

good call MT. He's really been fantastic in his first year. Really exceeded all expectations I had. Would love to see him use the ball by foot alot more though but i'm sure that'll come when he gains more confidence.

Worried about him a little. Sure he finds the ball but he so often turns it over or puts people under pressure because he fumbles and seems scared. Patience for him because his played 10 games, but something he needs to work on

Are you talking about ellis, the kid has hands like a steel trap and barely wastes a possie and could land a ball on a 5c piece....sounds like you were describing tambling....Ellis is doing very nicely , wrapt with the draft selection :thumbsup
