Funny , coming out of 2014 I had Gordo clearky ahead of lloyd. Not now, good has struggled to have any impact in two hit outs with lots of chances.

Lloyd has got a lot fitter and certainly played with a fair amount of confidence. Another performance like that against NM and he s in r1 . Gordon is out for the mo , Lennon has taken his spot

see what happens, its all kick and giggle games atm.  Most of our senior blokes were cruising.  It is an opportunity for blokes like Lloyd and co to stand up and pick up the slack which he did but others did not.

Yep a lot of people reading too much into a practice match but then it happens every year.

If history continues he won't do anything for a couple games and in about 5 weeks will kick another 3+

Bingo.

Sam Lloyd interview on RSN
« Reply #247 on: March 18, 2015, 11:06:31 PM »
RSN's Chrisso & Mick McGuane caught up with Richmond's, Sam Lloyd, a mature-age forward, who impressed in his debut season in 2014. Sam joins the program discussing the Tigers' pre-season, including his four goal effort in their thumping win over Port on Saturday:

AUDIO: https://soundcloud.com/rsn-racing/sam-lloyd-richmond-tigers-afl-1

* I was happy to get a run and contribute a bit in the second half on the weekend and get away with a win. I haven’t done six months of pre-season without thinking I’m not going to play seniors.  So I’m surely hoping that I can get a spot there.  There’s a lot of competition at the moment. Everyone’s flying and everyone’s had a good pre-season.  But I suppose it’s healthy competition and it’s good to see because everyone’s giving the coaches a bit to think about.

* It was a good experience playing last year. Probably more than I expected to play eight games, being my first year and the preseason I had coming in. I gained a lot of experience from it last year and took a few things out of it.  I had to work on my fitness and tried to get a bit quicker over the summer and tried to get a bigger engine to play that half-forward role.

* I’ve played a bit of midfield but played mostly forward my whole career.  I think playing forward, it just sort of comes to me a little bit. At the moment, I’ll probably stick up forward and maybe pinch-hit in a couple of centre bounces.  But as it goes on, and as I further increase my endurance, I hope to get in the midfield at some stage.

Lets just see how the season progresses and make a considered decision but I will add, if you continue to look only at a few clangers per game, you will miss watching a smart efficient player that is Conca :thumbsup
