They're talking it up as if it is a lay down misère. Saying it's all done bar a few loose ends. Not sure why they'd be saying this if it's wrong.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Richmond in the mix for out-of-contract Geelong forward Daniel Menzel (West Aus)

Fremantle, Richmond in the mix for out-of-contract Geelong forward Daniel Menzel

West Australian
Sunday, 17 September 2017 1:06PM

Both the Dockers and Richmond have shown interest in the out-of-contract Cat, according to Channel Seven’s chief AFL reporter Mark Stevens.

Stevens said the Cats had only offered the 26-year-old, who has kicked 40 goals in 20 appearances this season, a one-year deal.

The deal is reportedly significantly less than what he currently earns.

“Freo and the Tigers I believe are interested there,” Stevens told Gameday.

“He’s only got a one-year deal on the table (from Geelong), and he was fantastic on Friday night.

“You’d think he could be headed elsewhere.”

Problem with getting Stringer is the $$$ involved. Do we have the cap space?

They say he is on $500k for next season

Menzel alot cheaper than that, not that I want Menzel  ;D

We have small forwards coming out of the wazoo, so why would we want another one.

Menzel is 190cm and 90kg. He is NOT a small forward.

He plays like a small forward.

It's a massive no imo.

...his knee is also like Griffiths' head -  one knock away from being finished for good...and if people are worried about Stringer's lack of defensive accountablity - well Menzel's even worse and only about half as talented...

Not keen on Menzel unless we'd swap out steak knives. I'd rather hold onto Menadue/Lennon types over Menzel personally.
