Don't expect casualties at Tigerland any time soon

The Tigers might be 1-6 and staring at a wasted year, but president Peggy O'Neal is remaining calm and sending a strong public message of support for coach Damien Hardwick.

"Let there be no doubt, we will continue to support and be positive with our coaches, players, football department and club as a whole," O'Neal said in her pre-match address.

"Do we give the media the head on a plate they are looking for? The answer to that is no."

All at Punt Road Oval look like they'll be given time to dig the club out of its current mess, and any decisions on coaching staff will be made "in the cool light of day".

Speaking shortly after on ABC, O'Neal guaranteed Hardwick would coach the Tigers next year. "No doubt. He already knows that, but it doesn't hurt to re-state it," she said.

At least in womens footy the coach doesnt try to call the match off if there are too many last quarter injuries

Hardwick was appointed for a rebuild.  Seven years later, head of footy lets us in on a little secret.  They haven't started it yet because they are too scared of the fans.

Caro felt that it was bluff (i.e. "no review"). The Club knows there has to be changes but, at round 6, can't make them yet, and has to be seen to still be supporting those there. Dan Richardson learnt the hard way by his public singling out of recycled players and these players taking issue with his comments.

At the end of 2014, the Club thought there needed to be changes to the assistant coaches but Dimma stuck by them and the Club didn't push the issue. The Club expects changes to the assistant coaches this time around at the end of the season. Also, all recruiters bare one of the recruiting officers (I can't remember if Caro said it was Matt Clarke or Luke Williams) are out of contract at the end of the year.
