A good excuse to head down to Punt Rd in a couple of weeks and watch training at the same time as renewing.

tureeee
when do they train next ???

when do they train next ???
Most of the list would be back for preseason training this week except for the older blokes. The first public training session is on Nov 12 according to the Club.
Memberships usually come out early Nov as people with reserved seats normally need to renew before the end of November.
-
Memberships will be sent out by mail next week. They are hoping they'll get to people by Monday or Tuesday but with the Cup holiday they may not arrive until Wednesday to Friday. They've also had a slight computer glitch with 1 membership showing up as 4 lol but I think they've sorted it out.
-
Memberships or renewals do you mean?!

Yep sorry I meant memebership renewals.

The campaign if it is true has much more credibility than what we saw last year, its funny and shows a sense of humour. I support the concept coz its fun and its the reality.

lol classic. If only.
-
Funny ;D and nicely put together but Axel shouldn't be the one holding the spoon. If most of his teammates played to his level this year we wouldn't have finished last.
-
I'd say that image of Axel was from the goal he kicked out of the centre in the last quarter against the Pies. Bit unfair to have Nathan with the spoon when it might have been more apt with another player. Nevertheless clever by whoever put that up.
-
Fingers crossed the renewals are in the post tomorrow :pray.

Nup nothing in the mail today. The renewals must have got held up due to the Dick Smith announcement and the computer glitch.

Well at least as part of my player club package I get a $50 Tiger den voucher that should cover a new cap :lol
BTW Moi: I haven't received my Player Club renewal yet, just received the normal 11 game (extra) membership I have

Basic knowledge for a printer that red and yellow ink must be lightfast if it's going to be in direct sunlight.
If they were printed in Australia, the printer should be ashamed.
If they were printed offshore on the cheap (as I suspect), you get what you pay for.

Me too will pop into Punt Rd after my next pay and renew as well as picking up a few other goodies. :thumbsup
-
Seeing you can't do it online as yet, may pop in Monday to renew.
Let u know if there is anything there to by HT, as when I was there 2 weeks back it was stone motherless empty.
They seem to be being very slack this year with memebrships etc ...
Let's just hope we get them before round 1 :santa

Thanks CUB hopefully your trip to the Tigers Den is more fruitful than your last one.
You would think with the new sponsorship finalised the new seasons merchandise won't be too far away for the sake of our imminent visits and Christmas etc. Let's just hope this slackness is temporary and doesn't roll on for too long. :cheers

For all you Richmond executive, Player Club and Locker Club members:
The renewals for those will be sent out at the end of November

wayne, your sauce's handywork has got a mention in today's Age.....
It's all an act
GIVEN that the AFL home-and-away season finished more than three months ago it's probably a tad unfair to be still rubbing it into 2007 cellar dweller Richmond but … well, what the hell. This latest piece of cyber mischief pits American actress Reese Witherspoon and the Tigers' Nathan Foley together. Under the headline "One of these looks good, one doesn't", the captions read: "Reese Witherspoon … Nathan with a spoon."

They started theirs about 3 weeks before us so its likely they would already be able to count the sign-ups quicker.

In my household "She Who Must be Obeyed" is a rampant Hawker and I spotted their strategy, very interesting. They send all the membership goodies in a pretty box with a hawk on the front, then ask for it to be returned if you choose not to be a member. Obviously if it is damaged or bits missing in any way you pay. Also are advertising their pants off down here hoping for more Tassie Hawks.

Seems we are holding our numbers from last year despite the memberships being sent out later this year and coming off a wooden spoon. In fact we could be slightly ahead :o as we're just under 12,000 and it's only the 10/12/07.
Same time last year:
15/12/06 - over 11,000
20/12/06 - broke through 13,000 for the first time
-
I think will have similar numbers to last year despite the spoon
There is genuine excitement around the Tiges at the moment (for alot of people at least ;D)
Oh yeah and I've renewed my Player Club membership today. I am a player sponsor once more :thumbsup

The preseason is a good time to be a Tiger supporter. No games to remind us of reality lol. Seriously I think people can see the Club is progressing forward with most of the decisions it is making and it will eventually pay off on-field in a few years.
-
Hi does any one have anything to say regarding the player sponsorship thing I am tossing up the idea to go in as an "option B" and help out one of the new boys, living in WA i suppose I wont get to too many games except at Subi but still would like to support the club a bit more than just the interstate m/ship how much does $550 help out a player
how many of you do this ?
cheers 632 RFC

I am not quite sure what you mean by "how much does it help out a player?"
The money from the Player Club (player sponsorship) whether it be option A or Option B does not directly go to the player. It is a membership category that the club puts under its "Coterie Groups" banner, therefore all the money goes to the club.
They only thing that directly impacts on a player is your name goes on their locker. there is of course the other benefits in option B like the Player dinner etc. The dinner is a great night
The best thing about Player club is the supporters get to met the players one on one. And in some of cases you can really get know your player well. The dinner is great for this. I know that when I go and watch Coburg for example my sponsored player always comes up and has a chat. I actually think it is a great benefit to the players as well - those who make the effort :thumbsup

Sounds sensational when you do it as an individual. I guess you wont be telling us who judging by your posts but do you continue to try to sponsor the same player or mix it up each year?

Oh well if you don't want to share fair enough (Party pooper). Hope he does you and us proud. I gather he is a young kid who hasn't broken into the seniors yet from your Coburg comment.
Good on you for sponsoring. :thumbsup My in laws used to sponsor Damian Monkhurst at the pies (urrrgh! shudder) They seemed to get a fair bit of enjoyment out of it.

Ticketed and non-ticketed?
I'm assuming ticketed allows you an opportunity to go to the finals.
What type is the standard membership? I have a 11 game membership that I got from the club over the phone. Can I go to the finals....please!? :pray

Yes you can. I think 5+ games counts as ticketed??
-
I think it's basically if the type of membership gets you into a game it's ticketed otherwise it's non-ticketed.
-
MCC Tigers membership gets you into our 3 Telstra Dome home games but is a non-ticketed membership, even though it doesn't cost much less than an Adult 11. >:(
A bugbear of mine (don't get me started again ;D ).
Lazy, insulting and an inaccurate tally of RFC memberships by the AFL not to count club memberships which don't give access to finals tickets as memberships.

Tigers set new Christmas membership record
3:19 PM Wed 19 December, 2007
Tony Greenberg
richmondfc.com.au
Richmond has broken its pre-Christmas membership record . . .
As at close of business yesterday (Tuesday, December 18), the Tigers had 13,341 members.
That figure eclipses the previous pre-Christmas record of 13,040, which was set in 2006.
The Club is not only 6% ahead in membership numbers compared to this time last year, it is 3% up in non-ticketed memberships and 1.5% ahead in reserved-seat sales.
“Given we went to the market a week and a half later this year due to the AFL fixture release date, this is a fantastic result,” said Richmond’s General Manager, Consumer Marketing, Trent Jacobs.
“The increase appears to be across the board in all key categories, which is particularly pleasing and a testament to the loyalty of our supporters.
“We believe that the overall outlook for the Club is very bright, and I think this response indicates our members can see the direction we’re taking.
“There has been some strong off-field news coming out of Tigerland in recent times, with some good internal appointments, as well as the plans for the Punt Road re-development and the alignment to Craigieburn as a secondary training venue and community initiative, and this also would have played a part in the membership increase up to Christmas.
“In 2008, when we celebrate our Centenary of VFL/AFL football, we will have some great activities for our members to be involved with, and we are looking forward to many more coming on-board in the New Year and enjoying the whole experience.”

good effort, id be very surprised if we hit the 30,000 mark.

We'll reach 32,000 standing on our heads. :clapping
Amazing considering where we finished last season. :whistle Means the members signing up and long-term loyal types who stick through thick and thin.
Very exciting to imagine our tally when we are making finals consistently :cheers

I personally think we will reach the figure of just over 30,000 paid up members.
A successful NAB Cup campaign that sees us reach the semis or beyond and 32 or 33k is not out of the question.
Long term success and 40,000 will be easily attainable.

i think we'll do 32000 members, our supporters are excited about the recruiting this year with cotchin, rance and morton in particular. a consistant RFC finals team will see us at 40,000-45,000 and a Richmond Premiership side that has potential to repeat the dose will see the tally between 55,000-60,000 paid up members and about 15,000 non ticketeds as well. People think im taking the pee, I will be proven correct with these numbers when those things I mentioned occur.

From BF:
Essendon 23,118 (combined ticketed + non-ticketed)
Hawthorn 19,019
Collingwood 17,500
Geelong 17,000 by Christmas
Brisbane 16,025
W.Bulldogs 15,657
Carlton 13,467 (official H-Sun 16/12), 18,000 (unofficial BF)
Richmond 13,341 + 3,399
Kangaroos 12,047

Yep when we have been continually successful onfield in the (now distant) past the bandwagon grows massive. We were the only club pulling a million supporters to games in the early 70s thanks to our move to the 'G.
-
This might seem minor, but I think something that will also help raise membership numbers (for all clubs) is the new Pakenham bypass.
Going through Pakenham used to be hell.
It cuts down travel time by about 15-30 minutes and makes it an easy trip into the city and back home.

As of this morning we are currently at 13,568.

The wheels have come off the bandwagon lol. They've topped up again too so it could be back to the bad old days for the Saints if they don't do something in 2008.

The Telstra official sites are crap but the club has been quiet regarding info this preseason. They won't release training times either.
Try emailing or phoning the club. If we all do it they might get the message to finally update the official site since Christmas.

Here's the latest membership update.....
Hi OE,
Not a problem, I am happy to keep you updated. We are currently sitting
on around 14,990 ticketed members.

Looks like we are fractionally ahead of last year (say 4-5 days).
21/01/2007: Ticketed: 14,982; Non-ticketed: 3,896; Combined: 18,878
22/01/2006: Ticketed: 14,292; Non-ticketed: 3,774; Combined: 18,066
18/01/2005: Ticketed: 14,397

That's a good result on the back of yet another spoon.
Tiger supporters keep turning out in hope that we'll turn it around. :thumbsup
-
Other clubs like Hawthorn and Carlton had massive drop offs after finishing down the bottom (15th, 16th). Looks like at this stage we'll hold onto our 30k. So much for being called bandwagoners.

One or two promising performances in the NAB cup might boost things a little as well.

How many of those are North supporters though? There'll be lots of people from other clubs who have joined up out of sympathy. What happens next year when North aren't in the news.
As for us, we usually have our main rush on memberships in the month leading up to round 1. We may be behind North now but compared to previous years at this time of year we have record numbers. We're about 500 ahead of last year's figures when we passed 30k.

I appreciate where we are trackng MT but it is depressing when one works with dilluded North supporters who are in my face about their membership numbers.
Irony is of course they aren't members themselves :whistle

i laugh in their face cause they are never members yet have the biggest mouths when their team is winning or the latest sign up judd

Don't be down on someone just because they aren't a member. Among any number of possible personal reasons there are many people who just plain can't afford it. Doesn't mean they aren't just as vocal, loyal, knowledgeable or important. Practice some tolerance Daniel and it will come back to you in spades. :shh

na mate i dont agree with u. read my post properly i was talking about friends of mine
for some maybe they cant afford but for most they are bandwagon supporters, who jump ship all the time
my friends is who im mostly referring to again and they can afford because they drive around in 50k plus cars, they are just bandwagon pricks who barrack for carlton who only pop their head when something good comes to their team, i.e judd!!
tiger supporters are the most loyal in the league make no mistake about that pal.
what we have had to endure makes us the most loyal in my book

Could have sworn you were referring to the Kangaroo supporters WP was talking about and then you went on to talk about your mates. My mistake, the level of English I passed at school was obviously not of a sufficient standard to deal with comprehending the true meaning of your post.
The rest of your post just sounds like a rant at someone you don't particularly like or manages to get under your skin quite easily, especially when football is discussed. Approximately half a million members of AFL clubs, a yearly attendance of nearly 6.5 million, and a television audience many millions in excess of that. Sorry to be the one to break it to you Daniel but MOST supporters are not members. Welcome to the real world.

im in the real world buddy and my english is fine. i cant help it if you dont understand my grammar, thats an issue you perhaps have with your level of schooling reached.
yes i have a issue with bandwagon supporters especially when they come from princess park, i dont hide that fact.

I contacted the club about ticketed and non-ticketed memberships.
Was surprised to be informed that the Country/Interstate 5 is counted as ticketed.
It doesn't give access to enough games and doesn't give access to finals tickets yet is counted as ticketed because that condition is sanctioned by the AFL.
That should make things clear.
Memberships need to meet a set criteria to qualify as "ticketed" except the ones that don't qualify but the AFL decides don't have to. :-\
Doesn't give access to finals tickets, so the AFL must have to separate those memberships from the official figures when allocating.
Makes it more baffling to me why they can't just count all club members then.
I'd love to know all of the memberships at other clubs which don't have to qualify as ticketed yet are counted due to a condition being sanctioned by the AFL.
The AFL's club membership tallies are a farce.

My understanding FF is that any membership that grants you entry to a game is deemed a ticketed membership
As for allocating finals tickets - I think the AFL policy there is akin to pin the tail on the donkey (or certain executives that work there ;D)

The Country/Interstate 5 is counted as a full membership as it also qualifies the holder to full voting rights.
-
Thanks for posting that info FF :cheers.
I use to think there was a minimum number of games for a membership to be classed as ticketed. I thought it was 5 games as IIRC we use to have a "blockbuster" membership where you could attend 5 blockbuster games at the 'G. Being 5 games it snuck in as a ticketed membership(?). Obviously that's not right and it's more complicated than that going by what you've posted FF.
Memberships need to meet a set criteria to qualify as "ticketed" except the ones that don't qualify but the AFL decides don't have to. :-\
??? Adrian Anderson must be in charge of it ???
The worst club is Essendon. You only find out the ticketed figure in July once the AFL releases each club's final tally and Essendon's is always 3-5 thousand below their quoted membership on their website.
-

All memberships qualify for full voting rights, Darth. Including non-ticketed. ;)
-

Yeah, I've heard that WP but I don't think it's the case. I'd like to know what the actual criteria is.
MCC Tigers grants entry to 3 games. Pretty sure it's a non-ticketed membership.
Was told it was non-ticketed 2 years ago (when I had one) and that access to finals tickets was what deemed a membership "ticketed".
Trent Jacobs told me via email that Country/Interstate 5 is "ticketed" because the AFL has sanctioned that condition. I read that as saying it doesn't meet the criteria for ticketed but they'll count it anyway.
Hoping for confirmation on what the MCC Tigers membership qualifies as.
EDIT: Confirmed.
From the email -
"By AFL Membership standards, it is non-ticketed as it was a membership created by the Club, which doesn’t fall within their membership categories and doesn’t allow access to 11 games.
We have argued with them about this, but have never reached a favourable result."
That means 2 of our club memberships are non-ticketed. MCC Tigers and Tiger Insider.
I'd really like to see the official criteria of what qualifies a membership as ticketed (I get the feeling it's not set in stone at the AFL's whim anyway).
I won't be bothering the club again though. 2 replies to emails in 2 days with enlightening information is good going. I won't push it.

Our current membership is 17,002.

This was a reply to a BF poster asking the same thing just a few days ago:
Hi,
Thank-you for your email.
Ticketed members are all memberships that that admits you to games; therefore the Country/Interstate 5 is counted as a ticketed member as it admits to 5 home games. The Tiger Insider doesn’t allow you entry to games, therefore it isn’t a ticketed membership.

Assuming the same rate of increase over the next week would put us at around 19,800 on the 13th Feb. Last year we had 18,141 on the 13th so we could/should be roughly 1600 in front. I would assume with the NAB Cup to start in the next week that this could potentially be more than that. Not a bad effort for a supposedly hopeless team after a crap year and with no prospects for climbing out of the bottom two in 2008. Or maybe most Richmond supporters can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and are happy to back the club with their hard-earned. I pretty confident its the latter. :thumbsup

I fully agree re: the loyalty. Unfortunately the Bulldogs and Dees have had much longer periods in the wilderness than us and that shows what happens to clubs that can't pull it out. That's why its so important to get this current effort of ours right.

Many of our supporters don't sign up until round 1. We always come with a late rush in terms of membership numbers. The main thing is we are roughly 5 to 6% up on last year's record figures.
"All levels of membership will classify you as a member of the club so you are counted in the membership total."
So going by that they do include non-ticketed memberships in their tally including their pets :whistle.
-
Encouraging performance against the Saints + Family day on the 24th could = 500-1000 extra members.
wayne where's your picture of Slash gone, or more importantly (to me anyway) the picture of his Les Paul.
He'll be back soon, I liked that picture I have now, so I made it into my av.

most other clubs have non ticketed included into the final tally unlike us who seperates them.
-
The Bombers today are claiming they have broken through the 30k mark and have the most members of the Vic clubs. Last year their figures dropped 5,000 from those on the Essendon site when the AFL published the official ticketed tally.

At Windy Hill they are still in stage 1 MT Head In the Sand so they won't be totally dropping off yet so therefore the arrogance has not departed yet. But it will....... :rollin

Interesting the Herald-Sun has combined our ticketed and non-ticketed figures as our total tally to fit in with the other clubs.
ESSENDON has claimed an early victory in season 2008 by becoming the first Victorian club to break the 30,000 member mark.
Other Victorian clubs doing well on the membership front include Hawthorn and Geelong, both of which are approaching 24,000, Richmond with more than 23,000, North Melbourne with 20,000 plus and St Kilda which recently passed 21,000.
Collingwood has signed around 28,000 members. Melbourne is trailing the competition with around 15,000 members.

These country games don't get much publicity as the results are meaningless but hopefully the past couple of practice match wins at least keeps the membership tally kicking along.

Richmond has membership ads running on 3aw and they are going to have a Tigers membership drive on the radio on Wednesday.

Y&B has the RFC ad quote:
Richmond's 2008 membership drive shifts into top gear, this Wednesday on 3AW.
All Yellow and Black generations are urged to unite in the Club's VFL/AFL Centenary year, to form the New Tigers of Old.
By becoming a member or upgrading your existing membership on this day, you could win fantastic hourly prizes and go into the draw to win the ultimate Richmond experience.

Because, unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way. :-\

I wonder how successful this was. I was listening to Healy and Russell between 6-7pm and the only time Richmond was mentioned was Greame Bond doing a 30-sec membership commerical :-\.

Jeepers, I want to grab our marketing department by the balls most times.
When you witness some of the crap we are coming up with, we are becoming quite 'daggy'(see gey) as a brand IMO. >:(
For goodness sakes pull your finger out RFC and attract some quality marketing folk!

Out with the new
Leaping Larry
March 12, 2008
WHEN it comes to the marketing department, Richmond unarguably has no equal. This is not necessarily a compliment.
In the wake of last year's mystifying membership gift of a small scrap of yellow and black dust-cloth — soon dubbed by sections of the Tiger faithful as "the crying towel" — you may have stumbled across this year's brainwave slogan: "The New Tigers of Old."
You may also have had occasion to wonder what in the blue hell that might mean.
On the surface of things, the "new" and "old" cancel each other out, meaning they're the SAME Tigers, which doesn't sound like much of a bargain for the legion of increasingly dyspeptic and anxious-looking Richmond fans.
Some of these are so nervy by now that the sound of any siren — even a police or ambulance one — automatically sinks them into a deep, brooding depression lasting at least six months.

Anyone else noticed that the NRL have copied our membership theme for this year. They are showing old and new footage together, like our membership brochure.

We always start behind and get a rush towards round 1. About a month or two ago the Roos were well ahead of us with all their publicity and now we're almost level. Give another month and we'll be well ahead and close to 30,000. That of course doesn't include non-ticketed memberships which other clubs add to their ticketed numbers to boost their tally. The Roos also this year have a large component which doesn't barrack for them and joined up for the year simply out of sympathy. How many of these will remain Roo members in 2-3 years time.

the amount of publicity Brayshaw has been able to generate certainly reflects in those figures, their problem isnt this year or even the next, it will be when they are struggling on the field, a great year by the roos last year has also helped them enormously.
i say good on them i hope their future is in Melbourne, for the time been at least.

Would it be too hard for the Herald-Sun to contact the club directly to get the latest membership tallies. I guess it's not all their fault as the RFC website has an old figure from February up.

Memberships surge in Tiger Centenary year
richmondfc.com.au
2:41 PM Fri 14 March, 2008
The Tigers have just clicked over the 25,000 mark and are on target to break their all-time membership record, set in 2007, provided they get away to a good start in the ’08 season.
Richmond’s membership numbers are tracking 1200 ahead of where they were this time last year
“It is particularly pleasing for the Club to have signed 25,000 fully-ticketed members at this point of the campaign. We are currently well ahead of the same time last year, which is very positive, but we need this to continue,” said Richmond’s General Manager, Consumer Marketing, Trent Jacobs.
“We have just over 7000 ticketed members yet to renew from 2007, and we also are keen to attract new members into the fold.

As per my early post on another topic, I was CORRECT!
Only Dogs and Demons below us, oh year, we are a real powerhouse club NOT. some people here are deluded.

Add the 6,248 non-ticketed members, which the media don't count because we separate them and do count for other clubs because they don't separate them, and we are 4th on the membership ladder.
That's up there with.....let's see......oh yeah, Carl-Coll-Ess.

In all seriousness it is something the AFL needs to address. They should make the rules regarding membership numbers very clear (actually they are clear :P) but more than that they should be enforcing the rules.
I note in the article from the web-site that it said 7k members from last year haven't re-signed.... why :-\ and what are their lame excuses :rollin :rollin :rollin

A lot of those 7k Tiger supporters wait until round 1 or our first home game to re-sign up.

32,000 Here we come.

A club like ours should be minimum 40,000 members. When we come good I think its possible for us to do between 60000 and 65000. People think thats an extraordinary number, but we are a big club and if we could ever get some success, our big rivals will be left behind in a big way in terms of members.

Did my bit last week. Joined up my unborn son. Nice little kit of stuff too. Bowl, spoon, bib and soft toy but bear not tiger? I threw in a beanie from the merchandise shop. GOOD KIT TIGERS!!!!
He arrive Round 14, we should be somewhere in the top 4, he won't be the only one kicking and screaming if we're not!!!!!
-
Thanks for that mightytiges. I'd say a betting man would see us finishing in June at somewhere around 31,500 to 32,000 given that we hit 30,000 in a disastrous year last year. A decent result V the Pies will see us past 32,000 I think.

Just out of curiosity are the Blues and Hawks clubs that combine their ticketed and non-ticketed figures?
The Hawks dont, well they wouldnt have many anyway, since they have no memberships that dont give access to games and every membership thats 5 games or under, notably Tassie membership, interstate and international are sanctioned by the AFL I believe. So that just leaves the MCC memberships that arent sanctioned for any club are they?
I dont know about the Blues.

Cheers tigersalive. I guess the main thing isn't how many ticketed members you have but how much $$$ are coming into the club via membership. We have 35,000 members on the books in total which is comparable with these other clubs so that's why I asked.

Our non-ticketed 7000 members are FAR more profitable than the ticketed memberships anyway so it's all good, i.e. just cheap merch, no ticket costs. :thumbsup

True tigersalive. It's the amount of money coming in that really counts.
Still a win tomorrow would hopefully get us to 30k sooner. Shame we have 3 away games in a row to follow plus we're in the middle of 5 straight Sunday games ::).
-
We have more non ticketeds than the rest which as has been said is Money for old rope. We have more junior memberships then anyone. Imagine the perennial basketcase has the most junior members....Hope for the future.
We wiill be on about 32,000 ticketeds come June compared with the Pies 29,000 last time they were following a spoon season. All in all the membership ituation is very rosy inded.
-
I spoke to one of the ladies in the Tiger Den and she said ticketed membership is over 28,000 and that's not including any sign-ups from the weekend. So we must be around 28 1/2 to 29 thousand.

A tiger insider and a MCC member. More generally one that doesnt get you into more than 5 games unless "sanctioned" by the AFL to be allowed to be counted as ticketed.

my sister , being as dumb as she is, felt guillty, so she rang the club and asked what was going on. they said that their computres buggered up and have sent out thousands of tickets and they are hoping more ppl would be honest and own up. my sister ended up paying , but the other ppl we know wont pay and they never wanted to renue .

Our junior membership numbers are very good indeed, it looks like Richmond supporting parents are doing pretty well getting there kids on board.
-
Carltons membership is impressive considering their length of time at the bottom, even taking into account the 'Judd factor'.
We are 5th from the bottom but I still consider this good considering our ladder positions over the last...25 years!

I actually am a little concernce about the lack of Adult members we have.
We need to get things happening onfield so we can re-build the Tiger Army

Why state the variance when they are comparing figures not at the same point of the year ???. It's meaningless.
Our junior membership is great but sheesh our adult one is ordinary. I guess we're hoping there's a whole heap of latent adult support who grew up between the 60's and early 80's who'll jump on the bandwagon once we finally start showing success on-field. Our crowd figures say they still go to our games especially against the other big 4 clubs but they aren't members.

Just over 300 ahead of this time last year but we didn't reach the current 2008 tally until the 8th May. We've also only had 2 home games so far.

not bad after a wooden spoon
-
We should crack the 30k by the end of the week going by that figure. Our on-field efforts would be helping our membership numbers kick along.
-
The membership department said we are now at 29,970.
So if you know 30 supporters who aren't members tell them to sign up. We still have 9 home games left so it's worth it.
-
The Club needs to instruct the Website Admin to put the total number of members in the membership tab.
Ticketed 29970
Non Ticketed 7662
Total 37,632
The not putting in of the total is stupid. The club needs to do this. It looks a much better result. And in the new few months newspapers and other media will be referring to totals. We can change the result by putting in the total. I know this sounds pedantic, but It would paint the club in a better light.

that wasnt the point i was making, the point i was making was the official website of the club needs to show the total number of members combined so we can pass it of as a runaway success lol.
-
once again damn good effort esp after a spoon
-
I spoke again to the membership department and we passed 30k yesterday :thumbsup :clapping.

Can you get em to stick the total at the bottom lol ;D

Richmond Football Club is pleased to announce that today it has broken the all time club membership record.
The Tigers have eclipsed last year’s 30 June cut-off tally of 30,044 ticketed members.
“Breaking the record is a tribute to our loyal supporters, who have continued to join the club year after year,” Richmond CEO Steven Wright said today.
“It is fantastic that the members have shown their continued passion for this great club in our centenary year in the VFL/AFL.”
“This is even more pleasing given we still have more than 3,500 ticketed members yet to renew for season 2008, so we encourage them to get on board to ensure we set a high benchmark for the future.”

Another forward step for the club. Well done RFC :clapping. The loyalty of our supporters shines through again :thumbsup. This record on the back of a wooden spoon year and a quiet summer publicity wise.

Only 177 in 2 weeks. Looks like we'll struggle to get past 31k.
-
Does anyone know the last official day that counting stops and memberships can be bought?

A big win against the Bumbers and Cotchin winning the BOG award could get us a few hundred more.
-
who cares if we get no more, still a gr8 effort after a spoon imo
-
True X. Hopefully we keep the competitive performances against the top sides up for the rest of the year and of course score a few wins against the rest, and that gives us a membership boost in 2009.

June 30 I believe smokey.

The Hawks have reached 40k pets...
HAWTHORN has signed 40,000 ticketed members, the club announced yesterday, making it just the third Victorian club to pass the milestone.
Collingwood and Carlton also passed 40,000 ticketed members this year, and Essendon has topped that number, though not all of its are ticketed members.
Ticketed members are given access to games, while non-ticketed are regarded as a pledge of support.

Try again, Nick Sheridan.
MCC Tigers membership gives access to 3 games (our TD home games) but is considered non-ticketed by the AFL.

This just shows the membership figures and the AFL membership ladder are meaningless as they're not comparing apples with apples with every club having different sorts of memberships available yet the AFL picks and chooses which are ticketed and non-ticketed. It use to be a minimum of 5 games was required for a ticketed membership but Hawthorn get away with 4-gamers in Tassie being ticketed while 3-gamer MCC Tiger is non-ticketed ???. At the end of the day it's the $$$ that matter so they might as well just compare membership revenue of each club.

I just bought a Baby Tiger Cub membership for my 7 week old daughter.
She already loves watching the footy. It's probably a good thing she doesn't know which team is which or she'd send the Tiger membership back after last week.
-
Good stuff wayne :)
Looks like our membership has plateaued at 30.5k. Not a bad effort after a wooden spoon.
-
... my 7 week old daughter.
Congratulations wayne. :thumbsup Your first?

Wayne I welcome our newest little member to the club. By the time she is of knowing what is going on we will be a strong outfit for her. Fingers crossed that is.

Yes first kid. She has kept me from going to any games so far this season, but i'll get to a few later in the year.

Even assuming 1000 supporters dropped off because the price was a bit higher for the lowest level membership we'd be at 38000 members on that table.
I really hope RFC are already taking action for next year on this. :pray

Those figures are a farce. How is Essendon allowed to claim 41k members when they admit their figure combines ticketed and non-ticketed memberships yet we can't combine ours? Geez no wonder they got a 28% increase despite a worse on-field performance ::). Comparing apples with oranges.

What about the characterless folk from Arden St? 32600 my you know what. They can't draw more than 30K in most of their Melbourne games. I think Jimmy Brayshaw is conning alot of people when in their rally to keep their club in Melb they could only draw about 2000 people. :whistle Being tax time H & R should investigate

Many of those are sympathisers from other clubs. Let's see North hold that number in a couple of years without the publicity of being on death's door.
