The loyalty of our fan base never ceases to amaze me  :clapping

I think the AFL should introduce a new method of rating 'memberships'. A membership in my opinion should be 11 games or perhaps $160. Memberships that cost $60 should not be classified as 1 member but rather 3 such 'membership' should count as 1 member. Similarly if someone pays $500 to become an exclusive member of a club they should be counted as 3 average memberships.

This would make the membership numbers much more relevant, more meaningful and club comparisons more worthwhile. It irks me that clubs can count members who have 3 - 5 game packages as a 'member' while those who have 17 game memberships etc are categorized the same.

Look at Hawthorn and now Collingwood's membership packages - no wonder they are over the 40 thousand mark already

Just annoys me  :banghead

I completely respect your decison and the reasons outlining it, there comes a time for all when one says enough  :)

however I am bloody thrilled to hear they are hounding you day and night  :thumbsup shows they are dogged and will keep on trying. Its a lot better than a decade ago when  they couldn't even follow up lapsed members once.

Good post and great to see that plenty of fans are still showing their unconditional support by buying a membership even if some have chosen not to.

Certainly an uneven playing field given there are so many packaging variations and hard to read too much into the numbers based on that premise.
Perhaps a financial figure re contributions of member$hip would be a more accurate reflection rather than just simple inflated or otherwise numbers.

well done to all of those who have purchased a membership!

KEEP THEM COMING!

however ...

for those who do not have a membership and are on OER, "Please" get one!

The total opposite story on SEN this evening with Leech and Ox.

A Tiger supporter rang in in disbelief about the club's lack of chasing up calls over a 15 year period.

First up 15 years ago he wanted to join up his whole family (him, wife, 2 kids). Club said they would get back to him. Never did. He eventually joined up his family himself.

Then later on he wanted to ask the Club about something to do with membership for his disabled son. Once again no return call.

Last year rang up the Club about merchandise. Contacted them a couple of times to get back to him and still no return calls.

 :-[

Amazing.
Yet never in all my years of dealing with the Club have they failed to get back to me/reply to an email or call.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

That's even more amazing when compared to other clubs - 4th  :o and we haven't even looked like climbing off the bottom of the ladder for years! Said it before but amazing to think where we will sit when we start to show even a semblance of success  :cheers

Collingwood   49,473 - (46,951) +2522 - 5.37%
Hawthorn       46,993 - (45,093) +1900 - 4.21%
Essendon       35,632 - (34,408) +1224 - 3.56%
Richmond       34,368 - (30,951) +3417 - 10.40%
St Kilda          33,600 - (31,732) +1868 - 5.89%
Carlton           33,007 - (30,775) +2232 - 7.25%
Geelong          31,426 - (29,698) +1728 - 5.82%
Port                29,390 - (26,717) +2673 - 10.00%
W.Bulldogs      29,009 - (26,702) +2307 - 10.86%
Melbourne       25,147 - (23,267) +1880 - 8.08%
Brisbane         24,071 - (22,996) +1075 - 4.67%
North             20,423 - (19,599) +824 - 4.20%

Comparing these figures to 9 days ago we have increased our membership by more than most others.  Given the lack of incentive with practice match form, I wonder how much this has to do with the release of the 3-0-75 plan?

North             20,423 - (19,599) +824 - 4.20%

How can North possible survive in the long term. Everyone knows that last year the clubs membership was buoyed by sympathetic opposition supporters and would drop this year. That figure proves it. Surely, if they want to survive, the AFL should move them to Tasmania so as to still keep the team numbers up but appease the Tasmanian people and generate more supports for them.

I'll be interested to see Sydney's figures. West Coast, Adelaide and Fremantle are membership giants, but the Swans.....The AFL will be watching this closely given their GWS plans.  :whistle

I've got the fever.
My wife doesn't follow the Tiges (or footy for that matter) but she's about to become a member for the first time. 8)
