9:30pm AEST Friday, August 16, 2013RICHMOND'S push to re-sign midfielder Dustin Martin has hit a roadblock with reports the young star has rejected the Tigers' latest offer.
Martin, who is out of contract at the end of this season, is demanding a fair deal for 2014 and beyond, otherwise he will look at his options, according to The Age.
It is understood Martin's preference is to remain with the Tigers, and the club is confident he will agree to terms.
Earlier on Friday, coach Damien Hardwick said negotiations with the exciting youngster were tracking well.
"Dustin is obviously a fantastic player, an important player in his fourth year," Hardwick said on Friday.
"[He] just seems to get better every year so we think that deal will get done in the not too distant future."
The 22-year-old has returned to top form this year after a quiet 2012 and is one of the game's most dynamic goal-kicking midfielders.
He has kicked 88 goals in 82 games, earned 23 Brownlow votes since his debut in 2010 and finished third in the 2011 club best and fairest.
