Brief summary of what Dusty said on SEN...

* Pulls up sore after a game. Need to do all the recovery after each game. Fitness staff continually ask how he is and they have been great.

* Started in the practice matches- just running more and more to get fit. Does now an extra swim and bike which helps a lot.

* Still remembers the build up to the Vic Country vs Vic Metro game last year in the U18. A special day.

* Travelling interstate with Vic Country twice last year really helped with travelling 5 times this year with Richmond. Know a lot what's involved already.

* One of the coaches got him to bounce the ball around the ground before training with his left hand to

* Just likes to get out there and play footy. Mum drives him crazy as she gets excited.

* U10s-U15s - Campbell's Creek (?), U16 Castlemaine, then Juniors then Seniors with Campbelltown in NSW. Missed down here so came back to Castlemaine. Initially missed the Bendigo Pioneers squad. Regrets not staying in Victoria and going through the system fully. Hartford joked imagine if Dusty had stayed in the system given how good he is now anyway.

* Pain threhold for the ink on the neck? 8/10

* U10s-U15s - Campbell's Creek (?),

No need for a (?) Mr One-Eyed, Campbells Creek is next door to Castlemaine (about 5-10 mins from Castlemaine)  ;D

Ta WP  :thumbsup. They said in the interview it was next to Castlemaine but I wasn't sure if I got the name 100% right.

Yep.  Hardly even a township now but my father was born and raised there on his parent's poultry farm.

Given he's a tough SOB already, that probably makes it a 12/10 for most people

Seems like a kid with a lot of baggage... :-\ He's undoubtably a tough, hard nosed player but I worry that perhaps this constant need to seek his dad's approval may be a problem later on. I'm sure I'm reading far too much into this but this guy has fast turned into my favourite tiger so I am just waiting for something to happen  :help  He's going to be the scariest player in the AFL without question!
Heh?  Most young blokes look up to their dads and to their heritage when they are establishing their own identity, it isn't 'baggage'.  It is just trying to find your place in the world.  This is who I am, this is where I come from.  And then your write the rest as you go.

Your right there Owl.
Especially with islanders in general, they are mostly bought up to respect their roots and have loyalty to those who have earned it.  I personally think he will stay at Richmond given they gave him his chance at AFL, I would imagine his father is telling him such as well if he trully is loyal to his heritage.

Simply a freak and a star. He made that banana goal under pressure look like a piece of cake. Never looked like missing off the boot. Hopefully we are mindful he is still only 19 and managing his workload carefully as he still has a decade of footy ahead of him. He just laps up the tough hard stuff inside stoppages and doesn't know meaning of the word quit. He's a winner and plays accordingly.

The passion of the entire group as they work towards something might help us retain the kid.

We need him in Yellow and Black.

He is an out and out gun
