Good ol' Damian Barrett had to try and make a big deal out of Dusty switching management from Phoenix (Nixon's old company) to someone else. He said the 'why' will become clear in a couple of weeks and then left it at that ::).

Maybe his changing to get some of the commission the(manager) is going to get from Bastinac's big pay day from GWS.

From my understand his changing to the same manager who handles Bastinac? nothing story really.

Robbo gets stuck into Dusty today in his 'The Tackle' article. Says Dusty needed to kick that goal which would've put us just a point behind. Momentum is a key part of footy and if he had kicked it then you don't what could've happened. Robbo then added that Dusty multiplied that mistake by not chasing Yarran on his way to kicking that goal. We laud Dusty when he runs one way so fair enough to bag him. He needs work hard and run hard to both ways. Not the first time this has been a criticism of Martin.

Ffs Martin ran so hard to make position to kick that goal...he was blowing so hard that is hy he missed.. He was spent...and ffs his efforts twice got us back in the game...robbo is a fat pig and has no stuffing idea... And ffs yarran went out of bounds.. The only thing that was proved on Thursday night is that we r still.mentally weak and drop our heads to easy

I wouldn't be too concerned about what robbo says anymore...
Easy for him to criticise richmond, his team lost on the weekend and like any good filth supporter is shifting focus to another team.

Robbo hasn't said anything that hasnt been discussed here. Does the truth hurt us that much or is it a case we're the only ones allowed to be critical ?

We had the momentum when Dusty lined up for that goal, it needed to be kicked, good players nail them. It was a massive miss for us in the context of the game; fact. To say he was "spent" as he took the kick is a pretty poor excuse

And think everyone would agree his "non" chase on Yarran was terrible (and that's being kind); it was a very veery poor effort. Again costly. That the ball ended up being over the line is a non issue because that had absolutely no bearing on the chase or in this case non chase

Did both things cost us the game? No but they were 2 of the biggest game changes in that last quarter

Our midfielders in general don't run hard enough into defensive positions.  That's one of the reasons why our defenders get caught out.  We typically never have that extra get-out option.  Too many of our mids are running three quarter pace when the opposition are streaming forwards with the ball.

HIGHER EXPECTATIONS
Mark Robinson
The Tackle - Herald-Sun
02 April 2012

Hope Dustin Martin likes reading, for he should have a crack at the 2012 Champion Data Prospectus.

It states: "We all admire his ability to break a tackle, but he needs to improve when applying physical pressure himself, recording the worst tackling efficiency of any Richmond midfielder last season.''

It's probably the first public criticism of Martin since he bullocked his way into the Richmond team.

The second lot of public criticism came after the Tigers capitulated in the last quarter to Carlton last Thursday night.

His missed shot for goal, which would've put the Tigers within a point in the last quarter, was disappointing for a young man with a golden right foot. Yet it was his less than enthusiastic chase down of Carlton's Chris Yarran that drew the most attention.

Twice he thought Yarran was going to kick the ball and twice Yarran didn't and twice Martin was going through the motions with his chasing.

It's an area of his game that needs attention.

have to agree, the chase down as put by Robbo was spot on.

Nothing wrong with that.  All factually accurate.  Tackling efficiency is a good stat, I bet we're well down the table as a team in that stat and, as he points out, Dusty is our worst midfielder despite his strength that he shows when he has the ball.

Being spent has lots to do with it.... Disco roach was on send lazy week discussing this.... Saying Richie and nick riewoldt missed many goals due to the fact they ran themselves to the ground... Fatigue does effect your kicking... Rich said he was so good of a kick because Royce hart helped him but more important he never kicked.tired... You all seem to forget how hard Martin ran prior to that kick ... He ain't superman
