David Astbury

One of his best games this season.  Played in defence on Werribee’s resting ruckmen, North Melbourne-listed pair Daniel Currie and Majak Daw.  Was terrific in the hectic, final few minutes of the game, taking several timely marks.

4 yrs in, close to being fully developed physically id say he is at a stage where he should be performing consistently well at coburg at the very least.
it is time for some of the younger talls to at the least take some strides forward and actually improve. dave astbury and ben griffiths have become huge concerns.

If we could get a first rounder id be all over it, expect saints and dogs to form a queue, otherwise im happy to see him develop in the punt rd finishing school :shh..has some talent, no doubt, injuries have set him back 18 months

Maybe we could get Victor Frankenstein to piece together all the good working parts of Arsebury and Grimes to make some kind of super swamp hybrid player. All the left over parts we can chuck together and call it Ben Griffiths.

i dont think i mentioned afl level or insisted they become stars. . i mentioned vfl  and asked he improve enough to at least consistently play well at that level.
thing is he cant get a regular kick there after 4 yrs. surely that raises concerns. not saying cut him or anything just that he really is at a stage where he has to improve at least enough to show he belongs at afl level.
