i gathered you were taking the pee, but i just curious as to where you picked up that term.

It's amazing how many people up here call essendon that. It's become a bit of an in joke to refer to the bummers as essington
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Yahweh? or the great Clawski?

Nought dropped Edwards and he still can't get a game.

Advise you to go and reconsider the job that Blair Hartley actually performs for the club.
It is to find players who aren't getting a game at their present club but would improve the list at Richmond.

Think of players like Houli not getting a run at Essendon or Grigg not getting a run at Carlton or Maric not getting a run at Adelaide. All of them were getting overlooked by their clubs for players who virtually everybody outside those clubs thought were duds.

Guess what? Hartley saw underdeveloped talent and gave them a chance. They are now regular players for Richmond. Would you seriously dispute that Maric, Houli and Grigg are not in our best 21?

Let Hartley do his job. Whoever Hartley gets for next year I think he has deserved our faith based on present result and Lyons article shows most others in the AFL agree, despite your idea that you know better ahead of Blair's choice.

Whilst you are totally right in what you say about Blair Redan and what some said about Ivan I was of the notion lets get Ivan as long as it does not cost us the earth for him. To supplement what I am saying anybody was better than Graham and Browne as it was well known we had the worst ruck division in the league.

However with regards to Lachie I just feel with the number of talls we have currently in our stocks and with all due respect to Blair we actually have some talls that can play and assuming we delist blokes like Derickx or Post at the end of the year all we would be doing with Lachie is replacing a tall with a tall.

All it is, is merely a hope that in two seasons Hansen turns out better than Post.

Furthermore given Adelaide's recruiting where Maric came from compared to Nought in the last half a dozen years and I'm confident than Hansen is a dud and someone who the rigors of AFL is not cut out for. Another Richard Tambling IMHO.

If we get him whilst I will be unhappy and will consider his selection a waste of a pick I won't be as manic as others in their opposition and should he turn out to be serviceable will more than happy wear it on here but I feel that this kid just can't it. I may also add that if we get him or anybody else does and he does well it may be a result of the Nought system and Brad Scott as coach that brought him down and that's a slur on them and why they are so pathetic.

I'm happy to say he's a dud though.

You got NFI man. Hansen was better than Riewoldt in 2010. A Nort supporter told me so...  :shh

Did Guthrie's old man let you know what's going on? Am going round for a few coldies after Saturday's game up north. Might have a 3 day bender.

I would be going after Montagna from the Saints or Blease from Melbourne

Reckon Lachie Hansen is a monty to join the Tigers next year also for a 3rd rounder.  Not sure what his contract status is but he might even be delisted

Unless its for a star, I can't see us offering any picks for players, particularly in this years uncompromised strong draft.

Would take Lachie on a rookie spot or if we got him for next to nothing, doesn't warrant anything more at the moment.

CONTRACT discussions between Collingwood and Ben Reid have slowed as the impasse with Travis Cloke - an issue that is having an impact on the player and club - continues.

Reid, an All-Australian centre half-back, is out of contract this year and it has been speculated he could be the one player squeezed out or, more likely, open to a big-money offer from a rival club as the Magpies deal with a tight salary cap.

Ben Reid will not leave Colllingwood.  They would get rid of Cloke before Reid.  Don't waste your time or energy entertaining Ben Reid to Tigerland...
