Bookies pay out on Tigers for spoon

RICHMOND'S dismal start to the season has prompted a betting agency to pay out punters who backed the Tigers for the wooden spoon 18 rounds early.

Richmond's 55-point loss to Melbourne -- the bottom-placed club of the past two seasons -- was enough to convince online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au the Tigers can't climb from the foot of the ladder.

The agency has paid out more than $100,000 to punters who backed the Tigers to finish last, reasoning that it is already a foregone conclusion.

I got my money, paid for the membership :thumbsup ;)

It's hard to see us pushing Port or the Saints for 4 quarters in the next two weeks. The Eagles at the 'G in round 12 would be our next best chance of scoring our first win for the year. They should be coming off 3 straight losses by then too so their confidence shouldn't be sky high. North in round 16 would be next best chance for a win after that.

Round 12 vs the West Coast Eagles at the MCG will be our first win of the year.

Jackson, Connors, Tambling will be in the side.

Griffiths is every chance to be right for this game.

Gourdis can be elevated at this point as well i believe.

What have you heard about Griffiths CV, it's just that Infamy was saying he was injured again??

Re-injured?? As in again since the Casey game?! cause I haven't heard about that... I heard it was just some bruising and he would of played this week if coburg were playing. But I'm in no way in the know when it comes to these matters and I can only gather from bigfooty that he is alright... But then that isn't the best source of info...

Sorry CV I got it wrong, I was actually talking with Infamy today on the forum about our forward line and how good Bradshaw could have been to help Riewoldt. He was saying Bradshaw was injured... :-[ :-[, whoops sorry.

It would be great to have him (Griffiths) in soon but I am not sure we will, is he even in the Coburg seniors yet, I think he has only played one game hasn't he???

0 - sorry, I don't see the talent, experience or depth in our line-up to win a single game. They could possibly fluke one or two, who knows.
My opinion hasn't changed
Has yours?
And sorry, I don't bet on an outcome where I'm barracking for Richmond to lose games  ::)

Looking at the next 4 weeks

Port - not over there
St Kilda - We wont kick 6 goals
WCE - real chance
Brisbane Lions - anything can happen the way they are going depends on Brown's fitness

After the Port - Melbourne game the other night my mate said, "without knowing who who they play next week, both sides will loose". He could be right.

It was a very intense game played in (unseasonal) very warm and humid conditions. You worked up a sweat just sitting there watching game and many in the crowd were continually fanning themselves with their records.

At each break both teams left the ground, presumably into cool rooms.

Melbourne in particular looked spent at half time. I was really surprised they maintained their intensity for the whole game. (they did drop off towards the end of the 1st, 2nd and last quarters, but had to pick up again to wrestle back the lead at the end of the game.

Port had to work very hard in trying conditions to get back into the game and both sides dug deep for the last 10-15 minutes of the game. This game would have knocked the crap out of both these side, who then had a 4hr + flight home.

Whether the result has any influence on how well port back up, I don't know, but they could very well be flat next week. If we can maintain our intensity for the whole game like against Whorethorne then I believe we are a chance to knock Port.

Yep after round 11 we can elevate another rookie without needing anyone on the LTIL.

Beating the Eagles will all depend on how we handle NicNat and Cox in the ruck. That's the one area they have all over us.
