How many members did we get between this time last year and the final tally?

Can someone please explan to me why we aren't allowed to cash in on playing games in Hobart. It was a great idea when Benny mentioned it and I don't know why we don't just go there and play a couple of games there every year. I reckon play GC & GWS and we still have just as many home games as we do now.
If we pursue this I predict we overtake hawthorn tassie membership in 5 years.
Andy D stepped in and gave the deal to North because the nomads "needed" the deal more than we did. Actually the AFL wanted North to play 7 games down there but from memory the Tassie Government (under a bit of pressure from Hawthorn who wanted their cash for playing in Launceston as well) would only fund 2 games which was the original deal we wanted in the first place. Oh well it may turn into a blessing in the long run. We work now to become a strong club both on and off-field and remain a 100% Melbourne-based club which is what we would want. If Gary March keeps his word we'll be dumping the interstate home games as soon as we raise the $6 million or thereabouts and clear all our debts and fund our footy dept. properly.
what has itgot to do with Andrew D??? Is it because he has an afiliation with north??? I don't think the afl should be able to stop a team playing in Hobart if all are in agreement. I don't see the problem with playing the 2 new teams down at Hobart. The club can do some serious promotion there and steal potential members from the dawks.
I predict we will overtake their tassie membership in 5 years.
If the afl can stop us from tassie because we are a so called strong club why then haven't they stepped in and stopped hawthorn from renewing their deal?
It doesn't make any sense to me.
The club that keeps giving.

We only won 1 game from the first 11 games. Sales will be alot better this year during the first half of the season

Not sure if that is really the case to be honest, certainly no evidence I've seen other than blind faith
Our memberships hardly rocketed up to massive levels in 2001 when we were playing so well
Essendon's memberships were going strong when they were going well in the NAB Cup but they haven't pulled ahead of us even with their great start to the season.

:-*For the record, last year on 3rd May we were at

As of 3/5/2010

40,659

and ended up with 42,311

So we ended up with 1652 more members from this point of the year. Let's be positive and suggest we'll increase that a bit, so I'd estimate we may get something around the 47500 mark
I think 50,000 is a bit optimistic at this stage

We're we counting non ticket members last year?

It just seemed to me that last year that we got alot of members post the beginning of the season as opposed to this year.

Yep, they are the total figures, last year our target was 42,000 members of which

Quote
total of 42,007 members - 35,960 match day members and 6,047 non match day members

Apparently 6,000 of our total is non ticketed. I thought we were adding 3 games to all non ticketed memberships this year which are counted in our total figure on the official website. In other words I thought all 45,400 members in our current total figure were all ticketed members. I know we don't count pet memberships in the total. Why wouldn't all country and interstate memberships counted as ticketed allow 3 games and become ticketed instead? Obviously there's a chance these people may get to 1, 2 or 3 games. I bet you Collingwood, Hawthorn and Essendon do this  8)

All memberships are ticketed this year.

Not according to the membership chat at the offical site. I asked if any of the total figure were non ticketed and if so how many and he said 6,000. But I bet you my life the Pies, Hawks and Bombers add 3 games to all these memberships and count them as ticketed. It seems stupid not to do this really

The AFL set the rules as to what classifies as "ticketed" & "non-ticketed" - they have for a number of years now after the Dawks included Pet memberships in their total number
