So it looks like we will finish 5th on the membership ladder - sure beats 9th ;D

And 4th if we don't count the Eagles' waiting list  :thumbsup.

Now we'll have to wait on Andy D and AA to work out the official membership total the AFL recognises.

No update on the RFC webiste since the last one a few days ago and it's now past the cutoff date. So it appears we'll end up with just over 47,500 members with almost 11k of them new for 2010. Not a bad effort considering we are still a bottom 6 side. The bandwagon hopefully is building.

Best supporters in the AFL. The only thing Richmond has that is truly great ATM.

I believe so (at least the 3-game membership) although they won't count towards the official AFL figures. Good luck to the Club selling anymore by the way now given the past month on-field :P.

Here's the AFL's final membership figures. We cracked the 40k "ticketed" or "access" members mark.

Eight clubs - Adelaide, Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Hawthorn, Richmond and West Coast - now boast membership bases of over 40,000.

how come theres a 7000 differential in our numbers. The 3 game membership replaced the non ticketed membership- dont these count still?

Yes

but what about the other ones Flags, the AFL wouldn't include those - eg the Non match day cubs, the MCG tiger etc

Bombers appear to be in the same boat as us - 7k differential

40,184

THIS is our membership number. The club looks stupid when it claims 47,000 members and we come out with 40,000 official members. And this was on top of the supposed extraordinary success of the membership campaign. The club needs a reality check IMHO. If it wants to do membership numbers it should do it properly, not leave it till late July for the AFL to make us look stupid. Members are members and contributors are contributors and the club needs to make this distinction or better still just have the officially recognised memberships thats all and dont include other numbers.

I actually don't believe anything the members tally suggests.

Don't believe for a 2nd we have 500k more members than St.Kilda and Hawthorns 56k (including Tassie members) is legit. Where are their 3 day memberships and pets memberships? Hawks fans couldn't fill a cookie jar let alone half the MCG.
Go Tigers!
