You don't need other people to do it when you have sone such a good job yourself

Thats true some times .. but intead of being a dick why dont you be helpful on this fourm because i joined this to be informed and to further my knolwedge of the club becuase i am teh only tiger fan that i nknow of in my area of sydney i can talk to so this fourm is what i got .. s be constructive please  :thumbsup
.
Well dont we already have a ruck? thursty and vickery? this will probibly sound really dumb of me so dont hang me ... What if we traded pick six for a player we really really need ? do we have a good ruck? maby for a key defender?
[/quote]

you confuse me TTID. Thursty is most definitely not a ruckman. perhaps you mean, Gus?
You also ask the same question regarding whether we have a rucmkman twice.

Personally, i think we need one more class midfielder to slip into our engine room. Preferably someone with a bit of toe, but good foot-skills are a must. Then we just have to hope the likes of Griffo, Astbury, Vickery and co. develop in their roles.

Obviously, we can also use our later picks (and hopefully the ones we get from trades) to pick up KPP's. But i just think one more classy mid would put our midfield up with the best in the business in a couple of years.

oh yeh some times i get names wrong sorry ....

Have to agree at this early point Torch.  I don't profess to have much inside info on the draft choices but I like what I read about his capabilities and especially his contested work.  Will fill out our hamburger nicely.

Gold Coast recruiting manager Scott Clayton said the new club had been watching Gaff develop since last year.

“He’s got AFL attributes, he’s dangerous around goal and he can also do his bit in the midfield,” Clayton said. “He’ll be one of many that we’re looking at, but we’ll follow him with interest.”

Quote
The local football prodigy features highly on AFL talent manager Kevin Sheehan’s radar.

“Andrew is an impressive young man and an excellent role model to all aspiring footballers,” Sheehan said. “He is a prolific ball winner, a lovely left-foot kick.”

Sounds like the goods, could be the cherry on top of the midfield.

Kevin 'Shifter' Sheehan just went through a mock first round draft for the existing clubs. He had Swallow, Bennell, Day and Gorringe going to the Gold Coast. No Gaff either so he must think Gaff at #5 and Gorringe at #7.

For Richmond he chose 196cm key forward Tom Lynch.

1. GC - David Swallow
2. GC - Bennel
3. GC - Day

4. WC - Dyson Heppell  ..... 40 possies yesterday in a final

6. Rich - Tom Lynch .... 196cm key forward with endurance of a Nick Riewoldt.

8. Ess - Shaun Atley ... exceptional in traffic (Judd step) and leads tackles.

10. Bris - Jed Lamb .... X-factor, clean hands, natural talent who can play in numerous spots, mid, 44 goals

12. Melb - Jack Darling ... has he reached his ceiling? Works hard, great athlete

14. Adel - Scott Lycett ... 6' 8", played senior footy with Port Magpies, good mark.

16. Port - Josh Caddy .... powerful mid (Joel Selwood like). 4th in clearacnes in Nat Champs from just 3 games.

17. North - Lucas Cook ... soft hands, sets play up.

18. Carl - Reece Conca ... run and carry player, production when went up to senior level.

19. Haw - Jayden Pitt .... classy wingman, reads the play well, skillful both sides, can play HB as well.

20. Freo - Matthew Watson ... 195cm, 98kg. Magnificient kick like a Josh Hunt.

21. Syd - Patrick Karnezis ..... clean hands, soccer background.

22. WB - Mitch Wallis ....... (F/S) ..... could be Libba jnr.

23. Geel - Billie Smedts ..... can play 6-8 spots on the ground. Rebounding defender. Good user on the way out.

24. St K - Aaron Young ..... 188cm, can play mid, forward or back. Consistent.

25. Coll - Dion Prestia ..... great game yesterday. Power back (David Rodan like and size wise). Could go higher after yesterday. Two top games in a row in the TAC Cup finals.

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

This was their mock draft effort last year. It was early August 2009 and we must have been 12th on the ladder at that stage:

1. Melbourne - PRIORITY - T. Scully - freak. Nothing more to say
2. Melbourne - J. Trengove - medium sized forward
3. Fremantle - A. Morabito - a bit like Adam Goodes
4. North Melbourne - D. Martin - has a big kick
5. WCE - K. Lucas - medium forward/midfielder
6. Richmond - J. Butcher - tall forward, could go at Picks 2-5 though.
7. Sydney - G. Rohan - can play wherever. Good kick at goal.
8. Hawthorn - B. Cunnington - A bit like Jimmy Bartel
9. Essendon - K. Stevens - inside midfielder
10. Port Adelaide - L. Tapscott - medium forward/midfielder
11. Carlton - A. Christensen - ball magnet
12. Brisbane - J. Crichton - good kick, midfielder
13. Adelaide - J. Carlisle - apparently a freak. Tall forward.
14. Collingwood - N. Vardy - 198cm ruckman.
15. W Bulldogs - D. Talia - can play back and forward KP
16. Geelong - A. Moore - very 'versatile' midfielder/forward
17. St Kilda - J. Gysberts - very consistent, could potentially go top 10. Would be lucky to drop so low.

It's still guesswork predicting mock drafts prior to the draft camp and TAC Cup Grand Final. Last year they didn't have Sheppard nor Melksham and both went top 10.

This is probably close to the full mock first round draft including the GC picks........

1. GC  - David Swallow
2. GC - Harley Bennell
3. GC - Sam Day
4. WCE - Dyson Heppell
5. GC - Andrew Gaff
6. Rich - Tom Lynch
7. GC - Daniel Gorringe
8. Ess - Shaun Atley
9. GC - Jared Polec
10. Bris - Jed Lamb
11. GC - Brodie Smith
12. Melb - Jack Darling
13. GC - Luke Parker
14. Adel - Scott Lycett
15. GC - Patrick McCarthy
16. Port - Josh Caddy
17. North - Lucas Cook
18. Carl - Reece Conca
19. Haw - Jayden Pitt
20. Freo - Matt Watson
21. Syd - Patrick Karnezis
22. WB - Mitch Wallis
23. Geel - Billie Smedts
24. St K - Aaron Young
25. Coll - Dion Prestia

They must have forgotten about Griffiths to have us going for another big key forward. Not a bad thing if he's the best available at our pick but it goes against what the club has been saying wanting an outside mid.

If the draft did go as the above we should be able to get another pretty decent kid with our 2nd pick at #29. Tom Gordon, Ben Jacobs, Mitch Hallahan, Cameron Guthrie and Kieran Harper missing from that top 25.

I won't mind having another quality backup for our forwardline in Lynch but I believe every team needs more talented midfielders than KPP. With Griffiths showing every signs he will become an excellent forward and with players such as Post, Rance and even Westoff as backups, my feelings is we should aim for a player of the ilk of Atley or Gaff with our first pick and a ruck/forward with our next pick.

Just me
