Continuity the key for Conca

It’s a case of so far, so good for talented Tiger Reece Conca, in his quest for some long-awaited continuity with his football.

Conca has been ravaged by injury throughout the past couple of seasons, managing just nine senior appearances in that time.

But, with a solid pre-season behind him, and impressive signs as a small defender during the JLT Community Series to date, Conca’s fortunes may, hopefully, be turning.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick particularly liked what he saw from Conca in the Tigers’ 28-point win against Port Adelaide at Mt Gambier yesterday.

Conca read the play well, picked up 15 disposals, took four marks, and set up quite a few attacking moves for the team out of the defensive half.

“Reece, down back, I thought was terrific,” Hardwick said.

“His ability to compete, find the ball, win possession-gains, then distribute, has been really pleasing.”

I reckon he's gone up a cog - looks fitter, he's attack in the ball has been good but his decision makai g and disposal aren't good enough. At his age, it's hard to see this ever improving

Best game for the club so far....gained a lot of metres, kept the stupidity to a minimum....was only Carlton & still extremely sceptical but pleasently surprised....barring more injuries- which is a big if in his case- still might become a handy depth player yet.....
