Not heard much about Jake over the preseason. Wanted to see what people think of him and where he is at in terms of his career?

Batch had an odd kicking style too, would think it fair to say neither has a textbook action that would be considered reliable under pressure.

No where near it, way to slow and not on the money at all.

reckon petterd is the better player.

like all players who are good enough to get on a list if played often enough your likely to get the odd decent game out of em.
facts are and batchelor is one of them if you have too many deficiencies you struggle for too much of the time.

hes 188cm/88kg  defender. are people really going to tell me that he has the athletic ability cleanness and size and height to play on talls or the pace and agility to play on smalls.
finding a match up for him in todays game is the issue here. personally i like the idea of vlastuin, dea or mcintosh hopefully to do the jobs he should be doing.i also think grimes a better option though i consider him more of a tall.
i think of all the weaknesses its the fumbles that pee me off the most with him though.

Yep this and his lack of speed. Ufortunate, his first season showed so much promise but he simply hasn't developed at all and we now have better options.

na nothing to do with development. if any player doesnt have enough tools to survive they wont. too many weaknesses and no amount of development will fix em.

Don't think he's been the same since he injured his hip.

Batchelor kicks the football better than Pettard

Better style perhaps. Prone to more errors.

I don't think I've seen Pettard actually hit a target.
