For a while I thought he did too TM but his limitations are obvious and have been for a few years now.

Player            Club     Kicks    Handballs    Disposals    Marks    Hit-outs    Frees For    Frees Agst Tackles    Goals    Behinds    AFL Fantasy
Jake Batchelor    RICH  5        4        9        4        0        0        1        1        0        0        36

9 possies, gee whiz.  They really have to play him elsewhere to see if he can do something better.

Scott Thompson only got 6, maybe they should delist him

I'm a fan of Batchelor.

More than happy to have him on our list and in our side. Think we've made a mistake on him trying to mould him into a KP Defender. Think he would be our Suckling, Mackie type defender. Even a loose man. Needs to improve skills but think he's good enough in the air to hold his own and has decent pace and a long left shoe.

Persist for mine.

Batchelor seeks broader role
richmondfc.com.au
 June 20, 2014

“I’ve been speaking to ‘Dimma’ (coach Damien Hardwick) about the ability to play on ‘talls’ and ‘smalls’.  I’ve got more confidence playing on talls, so it’s just (a matter of) working on that,” Batchelor said.

“It’s more off-field stuff as well – the pilates and yoga – just to get my body right to be able to play on the smaller-type forwards.”

Anyone else feel a little sick when Parker took that mark with Batchelor trailing behind the contest and falling over? If ever there was a picture that could say a thousand words about our recruiting.....

IMHO I thought he was ok last night. Serviceable game. Tempo of the game dictated that and helped him. Batch struggles when the tempo of the game is much quicker.

Batchelor shows his strength
richmondfc.com.au
July 24, 2014

A strong, physical presence has been a significant factor in enabling young defender Jake Batchelor to cement a spot in Richmond’s senior side over the past few weeks, according to his teammate Brett Deledio.

“He [Batchelor] had his troubles early in the season, but his physicality’s probably the thing that got him into the side, and kept him in the side,” Deledio said.

“He’s not having huge possession games, but his physicality in his shutdown jobs, that he’s been doing for us off half-back, has been really impressive.
