It was over 6% and for reasons only the Reserve Bank governor of the day and the current one who was on the board at the time can explain they held interest rates while it was spiralling
If one of the Reserve Bank's key financial metrics is inflation needs to be 3% or lower why did they wait until it hit over 6% to do anything? Why didn't they pull trigger on interest rates before the last election? Serious question.

Is it still high due to alp actions then again unless you are stupid the answer is yes.
Let's look at facts.
Migration levels is out of control. How many have come in the country under his watch? Record levels that's what. Where are they living, what are they eating? Have a look at the rental situation. You see if the imbecile didn't try and migrate his way out of inflation, we would probably have a different situation but no he wanted more more and more to come and that's what he got.
More migrants pay tax and makes him look good. The collateral damage is the Aussies that are here. I have no real issue with the good migrants, BUT sort your own backyard first which he didn't.
He said electricity prices would fall. Have they? Nope. Broken promise.
Now he has decided to trim everyone's account by a few hunge not because he cares, but he knows he is deep strife with his election forecast. He knows giving everyone a clip of a few hundred bux will cause downward pressure on one of the inflationary measures. You cannot get more desperate to cling onto another term as he is doing here.
