Ill give it ago for round 1

Grigg  Gourdis  McGuane
Newey  Astbury  Lids
Edwards  Martin  Conners
Houli  Griffiths  Conca
Morton  Riewoldt   Taylor

Foll- Graham  Cotchin  Foley

Int-  White  Farmer  Tuck   Derickx

Gourdis to play on Waite all night
Grigg to give Betts a whack behind the ear everytime he goes near it
McGuane to play on Henderson where ever he plays in the forward line
Farmer to play on Garlett if Newey struggles with his pace
Astbury to play on the other tall as he reads the play better than the other key defenders and can help with the rebound
Cotch to go head to head with Judd- not tagging
Only one of our ruckmen on the ground at any one time
Lids to rotate the midfield
Morton to rotate through midfield as with Conca
Edwards and Conners to be really attacking forward of centre but MUST work back as well
Riewoldt to play where he won a Colmen medal
King straight back in when available as that small defending forward (Conca to have a go round 1)

jackstar is back again

Better than last year, where we sometimes had 0 ruckmen on the ground.

If vickery can continue kixkig bags he might not get a chance to okay muzch at coburg.

Long term to have vickery & griffiths in tw forward line, both at a good size at 2m tall they might be hard to match up on. More so when you throw in te Colman medalist as the 3rd tall forward

With Farmer injured it now looks like Batchelor will definitelymake his debut in round 1 in a back pocket.

The FB possie is still a prob. Lukey will probably get first crack. We don't really have a speedy small defender to go with a Betts, Gartlett or Yarran. If Henderson and Kreuzer are both out maybe we could get away with Moore at FB and then Connors in a BP  :-\.

B:   Batchelor     Moore      Connors
HB: Newman     Astbury     Deledio
C:   Grigg          Cotchin      Edwards
HF: Houli          Riewoldt     Morton
F:    King           Vickery      Taylor
R:  Derickx       Martin      Foley
Int:  Tuck    Jackson    Conca
Sub: Graham

Emg:  McGaune, Rance, White

Everyone has Houli on a HFF. Has this bloke ever even played there? Thought he played on the wing and HB???

Lucky for us jamieson out also for that high Bump. Dont rate him but he is another presti from the Pies, in that he always does his job.

Lets hope Jack has a field with their lack of talls.

I forgot Kingy is going to miss round 1 through suspension. With Taylor hurting his calf today, Nason (coming back from inj?) our non-key forward options are becoming limited  :-\

Everyone has Houli on a HFF. Has this bloke ever even played there? Thought he played on the wing and HB???
The old fashion positional names are pretty meaningless these days except for the KPPs. A flanker nowdays is known as an outside mid which is what Houli is.

Haha no they're not. I'm sure Max Rooke, Mitch Hahn, Tom Logan, Kingy, Matt Thomas etc would all like being called outside midfielders  ;D  ;)

After all the practice games ill make a few changes for my team for round one

Grigg   Rance  Moore
Newey  Astbury  Batchelor
Conners  Lids  Martin
Houli    Vickory  Conca
Morton  Riewoldt  Taylor

Foll-  Derickx  Foley  Cotch

Int-  Post  Edwards  Helbig/Contin
Sub-  White

Graham goes out, Post in to pinch hit in the ruck as well as gives us the option for him to play forward in a rotation with Derickx and Vickory. But only one of them in the forward line at the same time because without King playing we will be pretty slow in there.
Batchelor in for an outstanding pre-season. Releases Lids into the midfield.
Lids into the middle, we need our best ball uses where the ball is (we forget he won 2 B&F's on the ball) and now with better players in there he will even get better.
Derickx first ruck, cannot be any worse than the way Graham has gone this pre-season.
Moore in for a bit experience.
McGuane out, needs to find some form in the two's
Edwards to the bench, needs to show a bit of last years form before he starts on the ground.
Farmer out due to injury.
And Gourdis out due to not playing the last few practice games.
Rance in to play on Waite all night.
Helbig or Contin in - my gut feel is Contin, showed me he had poise and a good kick in the first games against Carlton and Collingwood.
White as the sub to come on to use his pace in the second half. Carlton has run us our feet in the last couple of years.
Picked a side that should be able to run all night.
