RICHMOND

The Tigers are struggling to find enough big men to fill their key defensive posts for Saturday night's meeting with Hawthorn after Luke McGuane copped a two-match suspension from the match review panel. McGuane joins another suspended defender, Alex Rance, on the sidelines, while fellow backman Kel Moore continues to be dogged by a hip injury and won't play for at least a month. Will Thursfield, Dylan Grimes and David Gourdis are in contention for a call up, with Grimes rated the favourite at this stage.

Wouldn't mind giving Grimes a go actually.
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

Still too skinny to match it with the big boys, i reckon.

looks a good prospect, though.

He's about 1-2 KGs heavier then Willy T.

he may be but i doubt he would have the condition/strength of thursty.

it would be a big ask for him to play on franklin or roughhead at this stage of his career.

There's always the risk Grimes could be "Zac Dawsoned" by Buddy or Roughead but if he did even a reasonable job it would be a huge confidence booster for him. I thought our of himself, Will and Goo, Grimesy had the better game in defence for Coburg.

OUT: McGuane (susp.)
        Edwards
        Nahas
        Connors

IN:  Thursfield
      Grimes
      Webberley
      Tuck
You're kidding yourself
why makes perfect sense.
edwards has been absolute poo and nahas not far behind.  mcguane is suspended and connors just wont be accountable and is lazy.
surely graham has to go as well.what a spud yet supporters fall over themselves because hes a battler.. we are supposed to be building a top 4 side not persevering with duds.

the ins well look at the teams strengths and weaknesses over the last 2 weeks and then look at structure and match ups. as a group what has our 7 smalls contributed what do we expect how have they fared in comparison to opposition smalls.  as a group they have been lousy.
are wein a ne hardwick era or are we still in the wallace era.

5 changes to a side that drew to last years runner up.... Admittedly one forced. To bring who in. What continuity do you expect the side to have. You called for 6 changes last week. No way to settle a side that way.

Claw you are out of your mind. There's a darkside and there's a "darkside."

Changes this week will come in to combat the Hawk talls to compensate for McGuane's suspension and if it rains expect the smalls to stay in the side which they will anyway even if its dry like the Birdsville track.

To compare Hardwick to Wallace is just plain out there also. The turnover on the list from round 22 09 has been dramatic and I am sure more is to come this year. At the end of 05 Wallace topped up and last year Hardwick once again went to the draft. Getting Miller in the PSD hardly constitutes topping up.

Now you have put 5 players on the outer for this week. I wouldn't even call what you are proposing a knee jerk reaction. Overanalysis stop worrying about what others are thinking or you perceive are thinking to base an argument on Graham, Derickx is injured and Browne is not as good a player as Graham not that GRaham is very good but he is the best we have at this point in time. Vickery is not a full time ruckman.

It won't be a surprise if Dimma brings in two talls this week as Hale can push forward next to Franklin and Roughead to try and stretch us for height. Last week we got away with going short down back as, after Riewoldt, the Saints had just a first gamer down there and even then it was Milne who was the major threat. This week with Rioli missing it's the Hawk tall forwards and midfielders pushing forward who are the main scoring threat rather than any small forwards.
