Always thought that this was a danger game so I was very relieved to see Richmond win.

Is it just me or do Brisbane go "all right" for a 0-5 team.

Serious man crush on the "Push Up King".......11 goals in 5 games.(22 in his last 10).

They've been competitive in all but one game this year so yep their 0-5 record doesn't show that. Still I thought we were pretty ordinary last night skill-wise especially going inside 50. Based on the amount of play we had we really should have kicked another 10 goals. We missed or stuffed up about 5 decent chances in the 2nd quarter and another 5 in the last. We also overpossessed with handball and our disposal by foot wasn't crash hot at times either missing wide open targets. It was frustrating to watch at times. You can't afford to waste opportunities against top sides and gift them back possession. Thankfully we were playing only Brisbane who are also bottom 5 standard. Nice to get another win and even when challenged in the 3rd qtr I always thought we'd still get across the line but we are still miles off moving up the ladder based on last night.

martin makes some serious clangers at times.

disposal mistakes someone with his talent shouldn't make. he needs to eradicate that from his game.

he is something special though.

the clangers seem to occur when he is kicking extremely short or going to short options. Still, hes going very well, hopefully he will improve further.

Overall I was really pleased with the win. We still have alot of issues, on a really positive note, Alex Rance could make alot of us eat our words. His improvement has been extraordinary. He was terrific tonight. Credit where Credits due. He was very good and 99% of his kicking was exceptional.

good wrap TM, Gus probably pl;ayed his best game tonight, I mark him hard, but tonight he did alot more good than bad...

Agree that he was better than he has been but it was still nowhere near the level required of a ruckman in an AFL side.  Still doesn't impose himself on contests, doesn't take near enough marks and is useless around the ground.  And don't get me started on his 'concussion'.  Have a look at the replays and he doesn't get a full whack from Jack yet goes down like Tyson has given him 3 good 'uns.  The difference in Graham and most other players is that other players would have shrugged that off and tried to stay on the ground, Graham stayed down until help came and then ran off straight into the rooms.  Bloody marshmallow.

We certainly should have won by more based on the general play and Hardwick made an interesting comment at quarter time.  He said our first quarter was "Mad Hatter" football, paying at top speed taking heaps of risks and then getting caught on the rebound.  His quarter time message was to slow it down a bit and 'think' our way forward and it definitely showed after that.  I think in the 3rd quarter we may have even been guilty of slowing it down too much but as many teams have found over the years, Simon Black on top is almost unstoppable.  We really missed Jackson and it just makes me more angry with him for that act of stupidity last week.

yep.

I think he may have shanked one kick badly the rest of the time he looked OK.

Dont think he is the smartest footballer going about but he is looking more likely to be able to fill role.

On our overall skill levels they are slowly improving. This is something that will not happen overnight but is happening.

This is why it was a good win. to beat an opposition that is having a proper go and around the same skill level shows the sort of character needed to be successful. the improvement in the skills will come with experience and the natural attrition of those that plateau in development/improvement before they reach the required level

He will! at least he takes it on, there was one instance in the 3rd we started ring a rosy and were in serious danger of turning it over inside 50 until Martin got it and just BANG straight on the boot down the wing, resulted in a goal to us.
I can deal with the odd clanger the way Martin plays, Don't you worry bout dat!

WE WON  a game that in the past when challenged we would have lost
we won the game with many wounded players
we won the game with pro lion umpires
we won the game with a short and young defence
we won the game when we didnt play our best
we won the game cos we never gave up and had self belief

many many positives in this game

i do think we are still too small in defence, and have too many holes in defence.
i do think miller should go to CHB as soon as griffiths is ready to come in at CHF

Positives for me were Martin's game. He backed up his performance against North. Nahas, King and Foley were very good. Jack played well and kicked a critical goal in the 3rd term. Our tackling was outstanding.from the minute go we tackled well. Grimes impressed. His spoiling was very good. Conca also impressed. Thought Houli was a stand out. His disposal was very good. Shaun was also good. More of a spread of good players. Vickery's ability to get the ball after going to ground was good.

The biggest concern for me is our rucking Divsion. Graham was poor again last night. Brown on MMM gave him the third worst player on the ground. Said he was too easily bumped off ball. Graham's tackle on McGrath was the only good thing I saw him do. Inaccuracy in front of goal is a concern we missed some sitters. Nahas I think kicked one on the full as did Miller. Vickery could have kicked 4 goals. We should have thrashed them. Let them stay in game because of this. Loss of intensity in 3rd quarter and over use of ball concerns as well. Very happy with the attitude of the players specifically courage eg Jake King's mark.

Aside from the 3rd quarter meltdown I was pretty pleased. Hand balling backwards between our inexperienced back line in the 3rd was excruciating. Mcguane looked completely disinterested. Always a worry when he gets the ball. We could have crumbled, but we didn't. Jake king, nahas, vickerys forward pressure, bachars job on power in the last 1/3 of the game, grimes spoils, and our running were all good signs. Brisbane looked dog tired halfway through the last, and we looked in control. We've got alot more to improve on, but when you see the guys grabbing their jumper on their chest after kicking goals you know they want this just as much as we do. Go TIGES!

Yep.  And when you consider that they had a 9 day break and we only had 6 you could be forgiven for thinking that it would have been the other way around.  Voss even mentioned mid-game that they were expecting us to be affected by the short break.  Just goes to show how much harder it is chasing than being chased.  We ran them ragged in the first half and it payed off in the last.

Notes on a few players:
Alex Rance is really starting to impress me I must say. He's looking much more composed than he has in the past couple of seasons, and he's stepped up at a time when he's needed to. Young Grimesy, he's a genuine hard worker with a fantastic attitude, and whilst he definitely needs to work on some of the basics in terms of skill, he's showing some very promising signs as a defender who can spoil. That was surely Robin Nahas' best game in a long time, he was superb even towards the end when he looked completely stuffed, and Dustin Martin was as classy as ever.
Push up!
