Jye Bolton from Collingwood has dropped off the face of the earth, weren't we interested in this kid? There was talk we'd got him to walk. Pick 55? Rookie pick?

Think Melbourne were the ones to make him walk while we were also keen. He is training with them i think.

Cotch, I think you might need to reconsider your "slow" tag of McKenzie. Too much evidence to suggest he is not slow at all.

I think it's that he looks slow because of his lanky legs. I don't think he came top 10 in the sprint though. It was just the agility. On another note besides his elite kicking he has that agility in close as well as very good hands in the contest so can play inside when he puts size on. Is also a very good mark for a midfielder.

For what it's worth, in my Phantom Draft, I have McKenzie in the 40's.

Reasons why he slid:

- tested extremely poorly for endurance.
- he doesn't find the footy a whole lot for someone who can use it well.
- this is because he doesn't push himself, doesn't run to the right spots, and of course, he isn't a great runner.
- I don't think he'll play midfield long term because I don't think he's quick enough in the mind or by foot.
- reminds me too much of David Myers.

AFL draft could be shortest ever

With no club exercising rights to use precious priority compensation picks at Thursday’s draft in Sydney, speculation is rising that as few as some 60 selections will be made.

Power clubs Collingwood and Carlton, as well as Hawthorn, West Coast and Richmond are expected to take only two new draftees on Thursday.

Anticipated clubs draft numbers:
Adelaide has 6 picks, expected to use only 4

super left boot, extremely accurate over 60m
runs to the right spots
puts his head over it, tackles
can play Mid, HB or HF (kicked 8 in a game last year)

the only real knocks i can find on him is endurance and he's a bit lightweight for his height

McKenzie might be a nice kick, but so is Mitch Farmer. McKenzie is very slow and I don't think he'll make it at AFL level. So much group think going on at the moment and way too much love for McKenzie.

Yep. Just looks like he needs a couple of pre-seasons to be a really valuable player at AFL level with a bit more strength and stamina.

Having said that would prefer he slid to us at 26.

He's one of the best kicks in the draft, but anyway.

Get to know Shane Kersten guys, if he falls to us.

Vickery, Riewoldt, Kersten already has me so excited.

Dont like the fact that he is around 190cm and IMHO would struggle to play anything in the midfield. From what I understand hes a mark and kick type player. I'd rather we take a chance on a Markworth. Markworth has a 2nd gear shows real pace and at around 189cm/190cm could do a similar role but also help in the middle.

Considering we wanted Darling last year there may be some truth to it. Then just midfielders afterwards.

Agree. Think he is more a 20-30 prospect so fingers crossed.

Still like the predictions of us getting Docherty and McKenzie though.
