Just a quick update regarding Conners for Maric.
Adelaide a still refusing to budge and are after our second round pick with Conners :o :o
Conners is desperate to get to Adelaide that is a lock it's just how he get's there that is seems to be the issue, looks like this saga will drag on well into Monday as Richmond a also refusing to budge from either a straight swap or our 3rd rounder not both........TBC
Based on what Craig Cameron said tonight our offer now is Connors for Maric as far as player-swapping. So adding your info Tas, I'm guessing we'll now accept Connors + 3rd rounder (55). I'd be satisfied with that as we keep our first two picks and hopefully replace the 3rd rounder trading out McGuane. We'll find out about Maric sometime tomorrow anyway.

^ would also be satisfied with that sort of deal...we do hold upper hand with PSD option and Adel have got so many people wanting out they are probably having a hard time keeping up with who's going where :)

...get this done and move onto other needs/wants/deficiencies or tell Adel to pee off....
...the fighting fury...

Tigers close to Maric deal
By AAP .
13 October 2011 07:37PM EST

RICHMOND are hopeful of finalising an AFL trade to land Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric on Friday.

The Tigers have long been eying the 200cm, 25-year-old, with the Crows keen to help Maric reach his preferred new club if they can strike the right deal.

Richmond's initial offer of their second round national draft pick, No.37 overall, has not satisfied Adelaide.

But Tigers general manager of football Craig Cameron said the Crows were open to a swap of players instead.

"They would consider a player, but we've asked them to tell us, if they do, who that player would be, basically," Cameron told Melbourne's 3AW radio on Thursday night.

"They know the players we've spoken about during trade week, but we've asked them to go away and come back and tell us exactly what they want."

Cameron said negotiations had been held up until Thursday by the Crows' involvement in several other discussions, particularly their desire to secure a pick in Monday's mini-draft.

But the Crows achieved that on Thursday, gaining the right to draft promising 17-year-old Brad Crouch.

"Adelaide's had a fair bit on their plate this week with all sorts of deals that they've been trying to get involved in and finally have got involved in," Cameron said.

"So I think we'll find in the next 24 hours hopefully we'll get a deal done or we'll be much closer."

Adelaide's Noble said that he expected the Maric trade to be completed before the weekend...... [which presumably means tomorrow (Friday)].

He also mentions about wanting SA boys to come home.....  [ Nason, Edwards...? ]

That makes sense.
when i was checking out maric i read things that indicated Adelaide were going to look more at home grown kids because the go home factor was stating to hurt them. They are real dirty on gunston.

It's just payback from when they started up anyway.

Nason's not worth a shovel full of poo so it could be edwards that gets the deal done?

Christmas could come early for some. :santa

That's b/c of the state of our list and when people perceive Edwards as being better than what he really is and thus being one of our better players.

Edwards is not untouchable and in a better side he may go under the radar and be handy but in our side he is one of many runts and thus many want him gone due to the glut of small men and of course his inconsistency.

I would call it fair game Maric for Edwards and we'll chuck in Connors for a second round swap of picks.

I would try talking them into taken Edwards and even just an upgrade from our 3rd for there 2nd.
I'd be happy with that.

to me the only killer would be if Edwards doesnt want to go. He is still contracted?

Very similar to the Collins-Grigg trade last year.

Adelaide will put forward some names, Edwards, Grimes, Connors

They'll take Connors when we tell them the other two are not on the table, just like Carlton did with Collo

keep praying

Sure Edwards turns the ball over as much as Connors but he doesn't get injured, he arrives at pre-season training in good nick, works hard, doesn't get punched out whilst drunk and doesn't smash hotel toilet bowls with his face

Which is why he'll be on the top of Adelaide's list and why we wont let him go over a bloke like Connors
