should have brought in Gus a month earlier

Really?  If that useless piece of dog vomit ever ever ever dons our jumper again I will seriously consider never buying another membership.  Talk about playing against 23 opposition - he was the most useless excuse for a ruckman I have ever seen and made it soooooooo f**king easy for the Gold Coast midfield to win it out of the middle time and time and time again.  Anyone who tries to convince me that the useless streak of pelican poo has any ability, potential or future as an AFL footballer will only make themselves out to be the consummate fool.  Cotchin and Deledio must feel like dragging the flogbag out the back of the sheds and punching the living crap out of the weak gutted, cross dressing girl.

ok maybe not Graham  ;D but another fulltime ruckman was needed, if that had of happened a month earlier Maric wouldnt have needed to be rested tonight due to being run into the ground all year... This sits fairly and squarely on the match committees shoulders, wish i was a journo, id be asking dimma publicly for a please explain re the poor maric man management

Bit calmer now.

Yeah, agree with that - if Maric was getting to a point of needing a break then maybe a better plan would have been to play a 2nd ruckman as a chop out for a few weeks instead of waiting until the 11th hour and dropping him.  Derickx was never a viable option simply because he had done nothing at Coburg to suggest a senior spot was warranted.  Graham and Browne on the other hand would have been 'in form' options to try and by playing with Maric then any damage done by their inclusion would have at least been minimised.  Playing a serial offender like Graham one out was always going to be a massive risk and history shows that form to be spot on.  He is simply not ever going to make it as an AFL capable player.

so whats ur solution? run maric into the ground so  he needs a rest due to fatigue just 2 weeks after hes had a bye? Yeah thats good man management right there

We dont have much, but you make do with what youve got. You rotate brown, derickx, graham and post through there to give Maric a much needed chop out until one of them can stand up. If they dont, then we wear it on the chin bc we simply dont have the cattle - you dont run someone into the ground when you have options at coburg, look after your prized assets. Hello Jack Reiwoldt, taken him half a season to be able to start running out games with multiple leads, but no 5 off season ops didnt hurt him one iota.

FWIW, there is merit both ways.
I guess The Claw is saying in principle that he wouldn't want to risk a second round pick every year on an unproven 26 yo player from another club and the opposing view was hey it worked, play on claw all is good in the world.

I think Hartley has earned the right for us to assume he knows more about any player than us and that recruiting or trading principles can be over turned with a fact based case to justify it.

History has proven that time and again.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”
