Hopefully none

Agreed, we never recovered from getting too close to the stinking Gerkin last year.

I'm up for one in 2012 as long as there's a good pub nearby which sells ice cold cider on tap, and Gerks buys the first round

THE first month of the 2012 season will feature a stand-alone opener between Greater Western Sydney and Sydney and a Ross Lyon grudge match.

The fixture, to be released on Friday, October 28, will also contain two clashes between 2011 grand finalists Geelong and Collingwood.

The AFL yesterday released key dates for the 2012 draw, with all clubs travelling interstate at least five times and 22 games spread over 23 weeks.

Clubs are yet to receive their draft copies of the draw. GWS and the Swans will play a game in Sydney a week before Carlton and Richmond kick-start the rest of Round 1.

The clash between coach Ross Lyon's old club, St Kilda, and new one, Fremantle, was at one stage likely to be scheduled for Round 1, but is expected to be pushed back.

It is believed the AFL's determination to schedule the contest in Melbourne, rather than Perth, to maximise interest means a slight tinkering with the date.

Looks like we still got the thursday night kicking off round 1 in melbourne.
If fremantle play saint's earlier with a fully fit list I can see the saint's losing by a decent margin.

Would love to see the demons bubble burst in the first round by losing to the lions.

On top of wanting to see the Dees get pummelled by the Lions in round 1, would also like to see the Pies go down to the Hawks on the back of a GF loss.

So if theres 23 rounds and 1 bye, that leaves 22 rounds to play. 17 other clubs so 5 teams we play twice??
duh :o So any guesses on who we play twice? Im guessing  at least Carlton twice

It was mentioned some time ago too that no club will play both Suns and Giants twice next year. Hopefully we get a double crack at the Giants though :D.

I can see us playing Bombers twice.
fingers crossed we get Demons or at least 3 teams that didn't make the finals.
