How does one get on board the Mr Magic club? I'm thinking about not renewing my Kinko the clown club membership this season as it is starting to become a little mundain......

Over the past week or two it seems we've been able to keep that 1500 or thereabouts break ahead of Carlton. With the Eagles and Crows limited by their grounds we have a good chance to jump over them by the July cut-off and finish top 4 in club memberships this year with 50k+ members. Not bad for a club that's been garbage for 30 years onfield and hasn't played finals in 11 years. Outside of the two new expansion clubs we really are the AFL's best option for significant growth and they know it too.

I'm disappointed with the figure at this stage should have been up around 35k by now. A bad NAB Cup and itll be much harder to get to 50k.

Considering Richmond have done sweet eff all to encourage any new members at all, it's a pretty tidy figure.

It's a record figure. 2,500 ahead of the previous best at this stage

We havent done anything in 30 years, and we will get 50k this year. Out of Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood I reckon only Collingwood could achieve this.

Essendon and Carlton fans drop off almost straight away if they are down the bottom half.

When we play finals continuously we will over take both Essendon and Carlton.
Us and Collingwood are the two biggest clubs in the league.

We can still become bigger than the pies in the future. We just have to start winning. Weve been bigger before. The 80s, 90s and naughties killed us.

yep a generation lost, which corelates to the mass media explosion of the game.

The supporter base will be a bit like the list a year or 2 ago, with lots of vet's, no prime ages, and all the rest as reent draftees.
