TFS is going downhill fast, and as soon as they get rid of Sam, the better.  I didn't mind him once, but he's a boring old fart now.  Apologies to any boring old farts (excluding myself) on here  :shh
Anyone know where Garry Lyon is lately?  Is he on radio or anything.
I know the rumours and they don't need to be repeated for the sake of litigation problems, but he's been pretty quiet and makes you wonder.

MT, the Bartercard deal, is that for three years or just the Connex one?  It was unclear when Eddie announced it.

The Connex deal is definitely for 3 years. Not sure about Bartercard. I got the impression it was for this year but Eddie said it so fast you would have missed it if you blinked  ::). If it had been a Collingwood announcement he would have spent 10 minutes on it and talked to the GM of the company conveniently placed at a table in the studio   :sleep.

Yeah TFS is pathetic. Time to put Sam out to pasture :sleep.

Gary Lyon has rejoined 3aw.

He's incredible!  Glad to see the Emirates girls on show again  ::)

That's because Pie supporters can't read  ;)  :lol

Browny and Cogs looked bored stiff standing in the background. Seems Tiger supporters were more interested in talking to the blonde girls answering the phones  ;D. Every one of them was busy answering queries.

Classic  ;D. Unusual for a maggie supporter to be so doom and gloom about their club. Hey that's a Tiger supporters job  ;) :rollin. Normally pie fans live in the deluded world where they think they're the greatest even though they've won only 1 flag in 47 years and have a crap list now. Better hide that long post so they remain deluded  ;).

Even though he had refused to come to Tigerland if drafted we still picked him from memory with something like pick 103. Back then before the Crows came into the comp it was fairly common to use a late pick on a SA based players who had no intention on crossing the border in the hope that by picking them in the draft you could twist their arms to leave Adelaide. In SA they would go on about Chalmers being the next superstar. Yep a superstar dud lol.

eddie is a sook! he just knows that all the sponsors at the pies have i bet a "tv" clause in it where he has to make sure the sponsors are seen by all on the 9 network, isnt it funny how the "collingwood show" on thursday nites are all about the pies and the sponors of teh show are also spomsors of his club. he knows once 9 is out so are many of his sponsors and and money!

the tigers announced new sponsors last night, 3 year deal with connex and bartarcard, eddie read it out so fast i nearly missed it, if they were new pie spomsors they would have had 15 min or more coverage on the show, directors would have been their on a table and would have been headline news.

f eddie!

i wonder if 7 can sue him for defamation, he really did defame 7 by saying that at least 8 clubs including richmnond will fold if 7 comes back! that is defaming 7 in my bbok, harming their reputation ! he blamed 7 for the afl nearly going bust years ago! how th ef hell is that 7s fault , so it must be 9s fault that the saints are still in debt, the tigers, cats, blues , dogs, dees, and north!.
he said 3 clubs are using the comp balance fund and if it wasnt for 9 that fund would not be there! what a liar and then he put the tigers down! what about the blues u moron! packer saved th epies but he wont in future bec he is interested in casinos more than pies!

eddie is a c###, he is trying to scare ythe ignorant footy world by saying that 7 is holding the afl to ransom! if the afl and 9 did collude at the last deal, well fine 7 has a right to sue u guys, what are u scared of eddie, did u collude ?

the footy show is a joke , i only watch the 1st 3 shows of the year and the finale, the rest i dont watch, sam last night proved that jim beam is a di-kheads drink! i bet jim beam somehow sponsors the pies to!

its dunny humor not even funny, sam is brain dead, fevola is just a dumbc###, and hird should give up that show he is to smart and classy 4 those bums!

EDDIE BE GONE!

Yeah, Eddie had his little rant last night, but when you have no credibility any more, how does he expect us to take anything he says as anything but self-serving.

You can blame the one and only Christopher Skase for Seven losing the rights in 1986 when he bought the network. In another great business decision he let AFL go to the ABC. Still it had nothing to do with the financial basketcase the VFL was in during the 1980s. Rampant chequebook trading was sending clubs (Collingwood and Richmond especially) to the wall so much so the now AFL commission had to be set up because the clubs couldn't control their own reckless behaviour. What saved many clubs apart from their supporters digging deep were the monies from the new interstate clubs that paid a huge fee to join the comp.

It was most likely tea but I don't think Jim Beam would've been too happy with Eddie getting caught on camera taking a wiff at the open bottle and turning his nose up at the smell  ;).

Crazy Johns is a major sponsor of the Pies. Joel mentioned Motorola and Eddie had to jump in and add Crazy John's ::).

No wonder he said it so fast. lol @ us being preferred to the Pies by a sponsor  :rollin

Just have to correct you there MT. It was Fairfax in Sydney that gave up the rights in 1986. Ch 7 in Melb was owned by the H&WT which Rupert Murdoch controlled but due to the laws of the day he had to sell Ch7. He did to the Fairfax who being based in Sydney said - Footy got to go.

Christopher Skase actually bought the rights back in 1987 because he believed (and he had just taken over the then Brissie Bears) that 7 needed footy. So did the Bears but that's another story ;D

Christopher Skase actually did 2 good things for Ch 7. One was getting the footy back in 1987, the other was buying the rights for I think it was 3 or 4 Olympic games (both Winter and summer). At the time he paid an absolute premium but the actual cost ended up being alot cheaper than what a number of other countries paid for the 2000 & 2004 Olympics in particular

Well that will teach me to trust my memory from the 80's  :-[ ;D. I knew it had to do with someone from interstate buying Ch 7 and tossing out footy. Though it was Skase but thanks to Pixie's dance partner  lol for reminding me he came from Melbourne before moving up to Qld. Thanks for the correction WP  :cheers.

Did he buy back the rights in 87 for the 88 season as Ch 2 covered the 87 season? Unfortuantely I can't forget us throwing away about 3 big 3/4 time leads in the first 5 rounds on the way to a wooden spoon with TJ ripping the last remains his hair out in the coach's box :'(.
