Can Picket run 16 kms per match?

Would be lucky if he can run 12kms.

Wingers need big tanks with our game plan and Picket doesn't have one.

In the last two VFL finals Picket has only put in one very good quarter.

Ellis allows more midfield rotations for our key players as he doesn't require the rest that those players need, Picket will not.

ellis was garbage against the lions, that is 100% true, but i was at the vfl and saw nothing in pickett that he gets a call up this late in the season.

would accept mcintosh to replace ellis for reasons given above re: tank, but not pickett yet for me

Ross another option.

Not the same role though. I wouldn't want Ross playing wing. Not fit enough, fast enough, or clean enough. He's an extractor and needs to be looking at 2020 from what I've seen post-injury.

KMac to replace Ellis if tank is the biggest concern. Not my biggest concern though, given that Ellis' tank still doesn't mean he can contest anything bar a wet paper bag...

BRANDON ELLIS (RICH)

Gold Coast loves his precision disposal and touch of class and is prepared to forgive the occasional lack of robustness in the contest. Would offer five years given he’s already played 174 games and has only just turned 26. Does a five-year deal on big dollars give Richmond any chance of a first-round compo pick, which would eventually fall at around pick 20?

Trade talk: Could Tigers snare first-round pick?

Sam Edmund, Jon Ralph, Jay Clark, Al Paton
Herald Sun
20 September 2019

Richmond wingman Brandon Ellis was linked with a move to Carlton for much of the home-and-away season, only for the Blues to baulk in the last month.

It has left the door ajar for Gold Coast Suns to make a strong play for the premiership player on a deal which could net Richmond a first-round pick as compensation in this year’s draft.

If the length of the contract on offer and finances are good enough, the Tigers could feasibly win this year’s premiership yet enter the draft with pick 18 and 19 or 19 and 20, should Gold Coast be granted a priority pick.

19 and 20 to GWS for Essendons pick, so they have points for their Academy player?

How do end up 3? Do we have an extra from last year?

Even 1 of those picks for this guy is a great result

A little birdie told me Carlton went cold on Ellis after his management asked for more money after the Coniglio deal fell through. SOS then said get stuffed.  :lol
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

It sounds to me like the offer they made Ellis was based on the assumption that Coliglio was coming and they claimed that was all they could offer.

Coliglio stays at GWS and Ellis's management then says now you can afford to pay what he is worth, so SOS is caught out in a lie so pulls the pin on the whole deal.

^^ Exactly. Completely understand why Ellis management requested more after Coniglio stayed.

SOS is just appallingly stubborn, to the point where he is actively hurting their chances (the Ellis situation aside).

It will 'only' be two. The article means we may get either pair (18 & 19) OR (19 & 20) depending on whether the Suns get a priority pick and push everyone down a spot in the draft order or not.

The Giants want to move 'up' the draft order this year. They want a pick before another club bids for their Academy player so they can get another top kid as well as their academy player.
