I can't believe the dislike people have toward Hewitt
IMO he is a deadset champion
As an Australian I'm rapt he smashed that guy last night
No one gave him a chance no one and I reckon silently there were some hopIng he lost.

Don't particularly like the style of tennis he plays but simply because I not a fan of tennis players who do not much more than counter punch from the baseline. It isn't great tennis to watch. Probably explains why I am not a fan of Nadal either; find him exceptionally boring to watch
Back to Hewitt, I agree he's been a champion and achieved some sensational things but IMHO he should call it quits while people still remember him as a champion rather than a often injured bloke struglling to keep up with the modern game and its champions. I'd rather seem him go out on top than getting bundled out at Grand Slams in the 1st round.
As for Dokic outside of her father being a tyrant and forcing her to "de-nounce" Australia I suggest you get a transcript or vision of a recent speech she gave at a Tennis Australia function (same function where Hewitt was honoured BTW) where she thanked TA for all the support they'd given her even at times when she didn't deserve it, aplogised for things she's done over the years and how she realises now she should never have turned her back on Aust. It was heartflet and refreshingly honest from a lady who had it bloody tough for along time because of her crazy father
