Richmond vs Collingwood - Round 2

dont know how you can bag the backline on last nights efforts. the pressure they were under most of the night , largely due to collingwoods dominance in the midfield was huge, yet they never crumbled.

newman made some mistakes early, as did nearly everyone, but was a solid contributor after that. punches above his weight so often.

Back line was enormous last night. D Grimes look a 10 year player, slaughtered Dawes. To his credit, Newman was good after a poor 1st Qtr.

I liked our defensive play all over the ground. People might say Collingwood played poorly last night, there was a reason for it. Ross Smith having some impact

agree. It was a poor showing last night from the tiger supporters. Maybe they're all on holiday over the Easter weekend. Or maybe they were scared because they thought we'd get thrashed. I was there and the team did better than I expected.

Correct. And IIRC it was Collingwood who didn't want to enter into a shared gate arrangement.

yes I like grimes alot. When he puts some muscle on & with a few more preseasons under his belt i'm sure he'll be great for us. I like batchelor last night too. Morris is fearless. Infact all the defense were good except the captain.
The problem is that they don't work hard enough yet. Rance is improving every year but he was made to look loose last night but he was covering for others who weren't working hard enough for him.

We were there last night and sat in mcc so if was a mixed crowd, but not that lively.
One thing ive noticed is our supporters are fairly reserved ( yes they can be super loud) but the boys really have to show something before they take off.
Imo the cheersquad (as hard as they work) need to get stuck into the supporters to chant and cheer the team whether were up or down, and strike fear into the opposition and their supporters.

One good thing was the collingwood crowd were fairly timid by their standards last night

No respect by any players defending last night forward or back, Grimes through his arms in the air after Rance missed 3 Tiger options & kicked it to them like a executed shortpass. OMG & the captain well l would simply execute him, was that bad giving every opponant he had 10-15 metres on him. no wonder his always late for contests. Grimes well l got to like that lad.

they were timid because if they were playing some other team like Carlton, they would have been flogged they were that bad.
