I went and agree 100% with the coaches post :wallywink
you obviously don't understand footy then.  :lol

TFT has actually played football at senior level, have you? Not that you need to have played footy to have an opinion but you're the one who is going down the "you weren't there so you cant be right" road. So ask you this, have you ever played football at senior level or at least played footy for a club somewhere?
Two can play at that game, Tigra.
My stance on todays game is what I wrote before: "I didn't say we were great either. Just said there's no point bitching over us when we've won with ease after making 7 changes to the side. Anyone that is bitching deserves a 12 inch shoved down their throat. Our kicking for goal was ass but we've got the 4 points and I'll take that."

What did you blokes expect? We had a bloke debut today, we had numerous other young blokes and we made SEVEN CHANGES to the side that played last week. I'm not happy with the game but I accept we are not near full strength. The boys had a crack today and won the game easily. Years ago we would have lost this one.

Tigra, what is so wrong with what I have said here? I'm not a TV expert. I go to the occasional game (when you live and work in another state it makes it hard to get to every game) and I at least played footy. You're just an arrogant jackass that has NFI.

that comment show what an illiterate simpleton you are, i never said we were great, just not as bad as some want to make out.

our biggest problem in recent times has been not taking the opportunities we have created, not a lack of creating opportunities.

this lack of scorboard pressure keeps the opposition in the hunt rather than burying and demoralising them.

besides that our we performing pretty much as a you would expect from a middle of the road side.

I didn't say we were great either. Just said there's no point bitching over us when we've won with ease after making 7 changes to the side. Anyone that is bitching deserves a 12 inch shoved down their throat.

Our kicking for goal was ass but we've got the 4 points and I'll take that. Mr Tigra should shove his bible up his ass and learn a thing or two about football clubs.
I agree, i thought we would drop this game. We didnt, job done.

With the reactions from some you would think we did drop this game. Some posters really need to get some perspective. Wonder what happens next week if we only beat GC by 50 points. Sack Dimma?

4 points is 4 points but lucky today we were playing Melbourne. Bad kicking is bad footy but the worst thing from today was the ridiculous overuse of handball and trying to pinpoint handballs when a kick was the clear better option. Today looked like a team that had made 7 changes as our cohesion was out of whack.

The concern for me at the moment is that our defensive efforts and structures have fallen down over the past month. It seems since the shootout win over St Kilda we've lost our way defensively (first quarter today was good though defensively). After quarter time we let too many balls go over the back in aerial contests which Melbourne then ran onto and attacked from. A decent side would've made us pay for such schoolboy mistakes. Lucky the Dees are/were terrible.

ok whatever coach.
I wasn't the first one to snipe. All I did was voice my opinion on how crap we actually were today.
What I said first was that we had too many list cloggers and vfl superstars that aren't good enough. It was you who and Al that decided to start the personal insults which I haven't done in any post on this thread.
I don't think there's anything wrong with having an opinion. No opinion is wrong it's just your opinion.
I never once insulted anyone for having an opinion.
It just peees me off when i'm attacked with personal insults for telling it how I see it. And today we wouldve been smashed by any side currently in the eight and possibly beaten by a few other teams not in the eight.

And Yes, I did play footy but not anymore. Way too old, too slow & too unfit.  :thumbsup

Yep, really liking Whites game.....

But its against 12 year olds. I've had enough of these type of blokes tearing it up against 12 year olds and then against the Collingwood, West Coast, Sydney's they get 3 touches that go straight to the opposition. :help

No, mr tiagra, the insults were not made until you made incorrect claims about what other people were saying and made out that because someone watches the game on TV they dont know what they are talking about.

hahahah performing like a middle of the road side, Al says

No worries. That may have been true earlier in the year after the Hawthorn game.

tell me einstein we didnt have 7 changes against Freo or GWS and what happened there. Thats right we played rubbish.

Todays game was a continuation of our last month. Very very average.

The club knows it, coach knows it and supporters know it.

Descent clubs bury teams and we dont. We have never had the ability for the last 20 years to do it. Why?

Not good enough, yet

The only positive i found today was that it was Melbourne who we played or we wouldve been smashed.

isnt middle of the road average?

Here's my perspective for what its worth.

Scrappy yes. Poor yes. Wayward kicking for goal yes.

Not many highlights however we had 36 shots for goal . Should have won by more I agree.

Considering we had a side with 1 first gamer, A bloke playing his 3rd game and a bloke playing his first game of the year in a position he has never played at, at this level. Did anyone expect anything better? Furthermore the distraction of the week we head to deal with. WHilst I do agree we are not playing the footy we were playing six weeks ago isn't it nice at least to grind out wins when we seem to be playing poorly and we all acknowledge that we have been better this year.

Two years ago we were dying to win a game any game now we are 7-7 and outside the 8 on % and we are carrying on like we lost. Sure it's nice to win well but this is part of development. You win under all scenarios and deal with that. Whilst it's not pretty there is a means to an end. Surely the four points being banked is much better than the loss. Whilst it is nice to have expectations let them stay within reasonable parametres. Don't sit there anyone and say to me if on March 29 we would be 7-7 after 14 matches given the overhaul of the list nobody will have taken it. Perhaps it's a fitness thing with us where the quality of performance is suffering now as it did this time last year due to the stage of the list development rather than the team overall being poor. Perspective.

We were 5-5 after the St Kilda game and we have been 2-2 since. Would a loss have been better today? In the journey a club undertakes each season you will find that there are peaks and troughs and right now our performance is a trough yet we are still good enough to win regardless of the lesser quality of the opposition. IN previous years we would have lost this type of match, yet we find the same Prophets of Doom telling us we are worse than Melbourne will be next year and we are going nowhere. I just find that incomprehensible.

For me some of the performaces of our lesser likes and younger players are encouraging and some of the class to come back in Dusty, Axel, Grimes will only strengthen us even further. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinions no matter how ridiculous at least show some perspective instead of alluding to the same old same old philosophy that the media just relishes when we bring it to the fore. At least we won.

All I hope as a fan of the RFC is that we have learnt our lesson from last year in Cairns and we can go there and beat the Suns. At least that will right the wrongs of last year and give us something new to deal with and another criteria to tick off for this season albeit a small given the opposition but nonetheless something that must be achieved.

It was a moronic statement by someone that is very good at making moronic statements.

Don't bother trying to comprehend it. Easier that way.

ok that might be right in your case Al and fair enough but if you read the thread again from page 8 I think, Coach threw some personal insults at me for having an opinion. I don't think it's necessary.

Anyway, i'm over it now. Whatever. All good.   :cheers :thumbsup
