KB  :bow Had Michaelangelo Rucci on SEN earlier today, he asked about chaplin as they were talking contracts for Crows and Port.
Apparently the port adelaide supporters would be happy to see the back of him and would even offer to drive him to punt rd from adelaide  :lol

He also mentioned that he is not a good defender as his natural position is as a forward
And if Dimma can make him a good defender then he has achieved his quota as coach ( or something similiar to that  ;D)

Maybe we are looking at him as a forward prospect and have our eye on another defender and have kept quiet, whatever the case there will be plenty of speculation on what we do due to our recent years at the trade table.

Rucci is just a bitter Poort fan.

Like the Demon supporters turned on Scully, gun player they tanked for to poor disposer of the ball with bad knees, the Poort fans are turning on Chaplin.

I'm not in any way comparing Chaplin to Scully, but I think Chaplin will be handy.
And you may not think I care for you

Wouldn't even let Rucci voice his opinion for the Footy Budget

That said, Chappy is no world beater even though Davey rates him highly because he plays for Port

Get out of it. Spoke to Chap on sunday (cheers Jay), nice bloke. Still, I would prefer it if we went for someone else. 4 years is too long for an incosistent player

But is he inconsistent or just a good player in a pathetic team.. A few yrs back when port were playing well Chaplin was vital to them and damn good... No defender can dominate if their mids allow easy fwd 50 entries

So true, was gunning for Primus to be sacked around round 4 this season

think there's a few Port & Crows supporters for that matter who'd happy drive him out of Adelaide as well  ;D

I've heard that Chaplin has been as good as done since mid-season.

No Tigers offer for Chaplin yet, says Peter Rohde

    Michelangelo Rucci
    From: The Advertiser
    August 28, 2012 10:30PM

RICHMOND has not made an offer to Port Adelaide defender Troy Chaplin at this stage, Power football operations manager Peter Rohde says.

It has been reported Richmond has offered key defender Chaplin a four-year deal which Port would be unable to match.

But Rohde said he had been assured by Chaplin and his management that there had not been an offer from the Tigers, who the Power plays in its final match of the season at the MCG on Sunday.

"I've heard all the speculation but everyone denies that it's happened, so I don't actually think it (the offer) is in place," Rohde said.

"Troy and his management have said it's not the case and the club in question has said it's not the case, but I suppose we'll see in the not-too-distant future, I suppose."

Rohde said Port's failure to have a senior coach in place would not have a major detrimental effect on its recruiting plans.

"A lot of that work goes on in the background, talking to managers and players about who potentially might come," Rohde said.

"Obviously we're going to need a senior coach to come in and put his stamp on the list at some stage but it's not really until the end of September or early October before a senior coach needs to take an active role in it."

The club should watch some Port games from this year. They'll some of the worst turnovers for the year coming from Chaplins boot. All goals to the other team too
