Tigers could climb into the 8 at Geelongs expense
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:00:19 AM »
The Cats haven't been convincing all year and after today play all teams above them with the exception of the Swans in the next 5 weeks.
By contrast we play 4 sides currently below us on the ladder and Carlton the next 5 weeks.
While we will have 8 points and some % to make up over that time, that spot might open up in the next month or so if we are good enough.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

On yesterday's performance we could:

lose to gold coast (swirly winds and rain, plus our innacuracy)

get pumped by norf (they are a better side atm, we would need foley to win this)

get pumped by ninthton (finding their feet plus we are scared of them)

lose to brisbane (they beat WCE up there)

lose to dogs (they always beat us)

lose to freo (they beat us here so they will beat us in perth)

lose to essendon

beat port

I'm tipping we will have wins against GC and port at home.. The rest are up in the air.

North, Brisbane, the bulldogs and Freo have all been more inconsistent than us this year.
We are not playing well ATM, neither we're north a month ago.
It can turn around pretty quickly, ask the Bombers.

At the moment there are 2 spots in the 8 up for grabs with 6 teams a realistic chance - Geelong, Carlton, St Kilda, Richmond, North and Fremantle.  In a tight finish like this percentage will play a big role and that would seem to eliminate North and Fremantle, and given the draw Geelong, Carlton and St Kilda have much harder runs home than us so a spot in the finals is really ours to lose as I see it.

If we get foley back these games are certainties :
GCBums
North easy at the Gee
Freo- even without foley we won't make the same mistake twice
Port easily
Western Bull flogs for percentage
Lions tough game but we have their measure
Flat track bullies Essendon (tired footy team by rd23 will struggle to make it)

The fifty fifty game Carlton

:clapping This is true which is why I don't understand why some posters have given up at this stage of the season.

Just concentrate on the Suns first. Martin, Foley and Jackson will be back for North and hopefully Derrickx is taking some marks by then. We should get over the Suns by a few goals and hopefully we can hit some good form over the next few weeks and our tall forwards get it right

Check out their draw
They got a soft jump to the season
Thanks Trojan Horse
Saints are the scary team and will make it
Hard seasoned bodies and well coached
Viewers beware they will do some damage

When we make the 8 it will be a great confidence booster for chimp and his merry men irrespective of what happens in the finals
We have been in every game this year up to the last quarter
We just need to develoP a killer instinct and kick straight
All teams beware when the cubs make it one yr early

Not given up just don't see the point in getting excited......again

Seen it too many times with this club, and the

Let's talk when we make finals. I don't deal with maybe and probables.

This easy draw vrs tough draw is a load of poo. Every game is 50/50 for us apart from GC and Port.

Il get excited if we beat the blues and bombers in front of 90k booking a spot in the 8, thus denying them. Until then our season is barely hanging on
